My Bottom Line:MiP (15960) - Sønderborg, DENMARK - SEP 4, 2010
This peppery Belgian-style Imperial Stout is not the usual Saint-Bock sweet sipper, developing a balanced flavor profile of roasted malts, coffee allusions and leafy hops.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A ring of foam crowns the blackened dark brown.
-The tandem bitterness provided by resinous hops and roasted malts is quite pleasant.
-Some licorice root appears in the spicy edges.
-The mouthfeel wasn’t really creamy; this was well attenuated and soft, yes, but that "cream" in the announced style made me expect a different mouthfeel.
-Alcohol was well hidden; this is a classy, cohesive brew.

Draught, 13% at the brewpub. Alcoholic and vinous, roasted aroma. Black colour, very small light brown head. Good mouthfeel. Nicely roasted flavour, OK sweetness to balance. Hint of vanilla. Quite a lot of alcohol, but balanced off OK by the sweetness. blankboy (7788) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 31, 2010
Draught at Le Saint Bock. Pours black with a small diminishing foamy beige head. Mild aroma of roasted malt, leafy hops, sweet fruit, alcohol and coffee. Boozy flavour of roasted malt, leafy hops, lots of coffee, some vinous notes and plenty of alcohol. Creamy mouthfeel. A bit too boozy for me but it’s a nice enough sipper. Sample drank at "La Soirée des Brasseurs 2010" in Shawinigan, on August 13. Very dark brown, little head. Aroma of malted barley, many notes of fruit tart. Taste malty fruit quite tart, notes of coffee, aftertaste of fruit tart with a lot of bitter coffee. Dom Charbonneau seems to have a thing for realy extreme beers!

Whoa! this was a monster of a beer. When i had it though it was labelled as 13.5%. This was pretty much a sweet syrupy mess. Loads of alcohol, and sweet fruit, and some sweet malts. THey tried to make a huge beer, and it seems like it got away from them, i couldnt even finish my glass. DerWeg (1702) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 12, 2010
It comes in one color which is black. Big fruit and coffee flavors, solid big hop dryness arrests the palate, rich big balanced flavors so rounded I cannot taste the alcohol. Whoa, I sure feel it, from my gut to my head, Fruit is like prune fig raisin and dark wine grape, would swear it had added espresso. Lubiere (14133) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 27, 2010
A dep dark stout with a thin creamy dark moka head. A nice musky chocolate aroma, rather powdery, with some light cherry notes and oaken overtones. In mouth, a lightly lactic and musky chocolate, very dry and powdery, corky notes, some light soya sauce, not bad, but something is off here. On tap at brewpub, June 20 2010. rodenbach99 (4572) - Longueuil, Quebec, CANADA - JUN 22, 2010
Tap at brewpub today. 13% ABV. More brown than black, hazy, beige foamy head. Fruity, sweet and alchoolic aroma. Pretty extreme experimental stuff; if it has any balance, it is in its extravaganza of powerful flavors, ranging from caramel and chocolate to dark fruits and dry figs and from an aggressive alchool presence to an intense leafy hopping. I didn’t have problem finishing my glass at all. Enjoyable stuff, quite unique...
