Draught at pub. Ar: ash and char, but faint; hint of metal. Ap: black and opaque; medium-small mocha head with low retention, leaves small mountain pattern of lace and a mostly covering but thin covering. T: lean cocoa, transitioning into dark chocolate; toasted base with a little char; rich milky coffee; medium, lean sweetness; bitterness is low and no hop flavor accompanies; ash and dark chocolate on the finish. P: medium body with medium-low carbonation; rich and firm, smooth; medium-dry finish. O: a really nice milk stout; more American-style than U.K. Due to clean fermentation profile; great dark chocolate character; a marshmallow on the glass is a nice touch!

Bouteille - 500ml. Robe noire, opaque et coiffée d'un col beige d.épaisseur moyenne et d'aspect mousseux/crémeux. Bel arôme malté agrémenté de nuances de torréfaction et de cacao. En bouche, c'est riche et très bien équilibré. La base maltée est appuyée par des notes de cacao, de houblon, de guimauve et de café. Bonne finale torréfiée/sucrée. Très bien.

De couleur noir avec un peu everfesssance et le col est de couleur moka . On n’a des notes de vanille Avec un côté de torrification et lèger supcon de cacao .ces t on on goûte beaucoup le va ile mais le cacao en fan ile vient balancer le tout. Bonne bière

On tap (4 oz) at Le Saint-Bock. Almost black with a creamy beige-brown head, good retention, leaving good lacing. Aroma is of chocolate, lots of sweetness, roasted malts, a bit of caramel and mild red fruits presence. Taste is rather sweet, especially for a 5% abv beer, with mild chocolate, roasted malts, caramel, hints of red fruits and hints of ashes. Medium body. Moderate carbonation. Fluffy mouthfeel. Sweet and sticky finish with a lingering sweetness and liquorice notes. The nose isn’t bad but it gets so sweet and sugary that the malt backbone can’t handle it at all. Low drinkability and poor balance.

Servie comme elle se doit avec la guimauve. Un liquide presque noir qui laisse beaucoup de lacings sur mon verre. Arômes très invitants de chocolat noir, de confiserie au café (la guimauve ayant été retirée bien sûr) et d’une torréfaction riche et onctueuse. Du fruit rouge et du chocolat au Porto. Saveurs poudreuses et sèches de cacao une amertume de grain de café et une abondance de fraîcheur herbacée. Bien pétillante, assez sèche et incroyablement facile à boire!

On tap at Mondial de la bière Montréal 2015. It’s an almost black one, topped by a dense, light tan head of fingerthick size. Mocha, dark chocolate, roasted malts and some bonfire in the aroma. It’s dry and full-bodied with a nice carbonation level. Roasted bitterness, mocha, dark chocolate and a bonfire touch in the flavor, with some sugary marshmallow notes. Long finish. A quite lovely one, easy drinkable too. 150611

On tap at the brewery. Pours a deep black with a thick dark tan head. Big sweet roast on the nose, cocoa and chocolate, soft caramel and toffee. Medium bodied, a light bit of acridity in the roast, but then the lactose sweetness comes in and covers it all up. Sweet milkiness, light roast and chocolate. Cocoa, a hint of coffee.

On tap, poured into a stemmed tulip. The aroma is creamy with vanilla - definite lactose sugar - with chocolate and smokey marshmallow. The dark, deep caramel brown color is topped by a brown, dense fizz that has moderate retention and good lace. The medium high sweetness is cut by a subtle, medium bitter chocolate note. It’s creamy texture had a soft, fizzy carbonation. The medium full body has flavors of marshmallow, milk, and chocolate with a smooth vanilla bean finish that turns over to dark chocolate with a mild spice note. It’s aftertaste is mild and reminiscent of brownies and vanilla cream.
