(Rating #4335)

June 10, 2014 - at Le St-Bock - on draught. Hazy amber-gold pour, small off-white bubbly head. Aroma and taste are cereal malt, floral bitterness, very light alcohol and a nice sharp rye bite. Average body, some astringency, medium low-level bitter finish - fairly long slightly earthy bitter aftertaste.

Carbonatation moyenne, corps moyen.

hopdog (13102) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 30, 2014
On tap at the Brew Pub. Poured an amberish color with a smaller sized off white head. Bready, rye, grains, floral, with some spiciness.

Pours a medium to dark golden color... Light nose a bit of spicy grass I and light citrus. Palate is round and has a grainy backbone with nice hints of rye and bitterness but not much hop flavor other than the bitterness. A bit rounder and less crisp than I would have hoped for for this style .

[Draught at Le Saint-Bock, Montreal] Pours a murky copper with an average size diminishing frothy off-white head. Some lacing on the glass. Resiny hoppy aroma along with light rye malt and light spices. Flavour also of resiny hops and a good amount of rye malt, nice tasting with quite a bitter finish. Medium bodied. Pretty good.

Draft at Le Saint Bock with Brendan, PJ, Andrew, Ricky and Streets. Pours a golden orange body with thin white lacing. Aroma is spice, hop and light pine. Mouthfeel is medium with lotes of spice upfront, followed by citrus hop, rye, light soapy character and malt.

On tap @ Le Saint-Bock (Montréal). Clear bright golden/amber with a small/medium white head and good lacing. Aroma is of rye/spices, herbal hops and caramel. Taste is slight sweet and about the same as the aroma with some soapy notes and light smoke. Light bitterness. Light to medium body. Moderate carbonation. Moderately dry finish. Lack of balance, so not super drinkable. If it was not of the unpleasant soapy present, it would actually be decent.

Minderbinder (3469) - Québec, Quebec, CANADA - SEP 30, 2013
On tap at Saint-Bock. Pours slightly hazy amber with low off-white head. Intense lacing. Aroma is of malt, fruits, flowers, manure (in a bad way). Taste is of malt, weird grain, bitterness. Intense manure/cow shed bottom hay (is that supposed to be the rye?). Palate: Light body. Overall: Tastes really bad. Don’t know if it’s just the missuse of rye, or if there is something else wrong, but something is not normal with that batch/ beer?
