A clear brown ale with a thin off white head. In aroma, a sweet nutty malt with light veggie notes, and light solvents. In mouth, a good nutty malt with light roasted notes, herbaceous, nutella, quite nice. On tap at brewpub, April 25 2011.

My Bottom Line:
Fruity esters and caramelized malts benefit from a lean, silky mouthfeel, as earthy connotations add depth to this delicate English-style Brown Ale.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A slice of foam garnishes the light brown.
-Malts are well defined.
-Fruitiness is reminiscent of cherries at times.
-This is not a show-stopped, but it is a well conceived, traditional Brown Ale. It would probably express itself beautifully through a hand-pump...

On tap at the brewpub.

(Rating #4727)

Tap: Poured a clear brown color ale with a medium foamy head. Aroma consist of light dry caramel malt with very little else characteristics. Taste is dominated by dry caramel malt with light grainy malt notes. Body is slightly below average with good carbonation. Good session beer with limited complexity.

In short: A nutty cookie in a pint. Pleasant nourishing beer.
How: Tap at brewpub
The look: Opaque milk-chocolate color body topped by a very small beige head
In long: The malty nose is just that, very malty, milk chocolate notes. Taste has a lot of cookies, lots of cashews, some milk chocolate, some tree bark, walnuts, yeast, brownies, some caramel, leafy hops. Rich creamy body with a tickling carbonation. The beer is very muddy but it is pleasantly muddy and very nourishing. Nice walnuts after-taste. Overall sensation of drinking a nutty cookie. Nice even a tiny bit too sweet. This was my first visit to this new pub. I realized I was a excessive pub-crawler when every time I walk into a new brewpub I am greeted with a mysterious voice that says "we’ve been expecting you".

On tap at the brewpub, brown color, with a small beige head, nice toasted, caramelized, biscuity, roasted malt, fruity nose with some chocolatey coated raisin, fig, date notes, with a faint cocoa powder, molasses, cookie dough, nutty accent, within a light bran muffin aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a good toasted, biscuity, caramel malt, fruity character of dark dried raisins, dates and figs, with some cookie dough, chocolatey, light brownie flavours, with some chocolate coated nut undertones, with a hint of cappuccino, leading towards a fruity, datey, chocolatey, lingering roasty bitterness finish.

Drank on tap (20 oz) at their brewpub, on October 23, 2010, one day after their opening. Reddish brown, little head. Sweet aroma of malted barley, nuty sweetness. Taste of dry barley, slightly tart fruit, a little bitter aftertaste. Good brown ale, pleasant to drink, it’s a good start.

On tap at the pub. Dark brow-red (pretty clear) with a thick foamy off-white head, average retention and great lacing. Aroma is caramel, toasted malt, floral hops and bread. Flavor is caramel, sugar, floral and earthy hops, nutty notes and a moderately bitter finish. Above average residual sugar for the style. Medium body with a slightly sticky mouthfeel and lively carbonation. Very good for a first offer!
