Draught at St. Augustine’s, Vancouvermcberko (18930) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - NOV 9, 2015
Amber color, clean. Nice aroma, seet caramel, smoke, and a hint of butter. Good body strength, nice malt flavor, and the smoke is delicate but well present, perfectly complementing; the finalnis quite bold, bitter.
On tap at St Augustine’s, pours a clear copper with a small off-white head. Aroma brings out a nice fire pit quality, with some ash and a touch of roast. Flavour is along the same lines, with ash, smoke, and some leather. Medium intensity smokiness. Balanced and clean, but nothing overly interested. Solid. Draft - Sweet BBQ and grains. Glean gold with a decent white head. Smokey sweet bacon notes with a surprising clean finish. A bit sweet. Lubiere (14151) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 16, 2009
An amber ale with a thin off white head. A nice malty aroma with light peated notes. In mouth, a good malty racuh with light peated notes, smooth and mineral. Medium bodied. On tap at Mondiale 2009. Sammy (12734) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - SEP 7, 2009
Smoked lager, at Festival Bières et Saveurs 2009.Light brown colour, with big soapy white head. Served too cold.Average mouthfeel, some smoke of course in the aroma. A good lager and smoke, but not that drinkable, a glass was too much.

2009-06-06. Dark amber body is essentially headless. Smokey pulled pork and bbq aroma. Flavour is fairly mild, touch of smokey undertones that have a subtle layer that I am not fully appreciating. Average palate. Average beer that is lost on me with the smokey character. Meh. On tap at Mondial 2009, Montreal MartinT (10036) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - SEP 20, 2007

A compelling smoked meat personality flows through the quenching, lean body finishing into a gripping finale where this lengthy earthy smoke evolves into a supporting leafy hop bitterness. A simple and effective Rauchbier from Trou du Diable which has to seduce with its thorough fumes and captivating finish.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A clinging sheet of foam decorates the clear bronze.
-Carbonation is calm and the body quite snappy.
-A light underlying fruitiness adds some complexity.
-The malty body could be fuller and more expressive to really take this one into the realm of greatness, but as is, it remains a smashing quencher.
On tap at Vices et Versa and at the brewpub.
[2254-20090606] Sample. Smoked ham aroma. Clear, golden amber body with a quick foamy off-white head. Smoky ham flavour has lots of malt then after is smoky. Medium body. Weird pork notes, but good.
