Bottle. Poured dark clear brown color with an average frothy tan head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate toasted chocolate malt aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium dark sweet flavor with medium sweet finish of moderate duration. Solid complex beer.

On tap at Volo. Looks like a porter. Small brown head. Sweet chocolate in the nose. Pretty simple. The flavour is not complex either, and the body is thin for the style. Not bad, but nothing special.

500 ml bottle shared by Tmoney99. Pours a dark cola brown color with a small beige head. The aroma and flavor have mild roasted malt, dark fruit, a subtle smoked character, ash, chocolate, mild bitterness, very little sweetness, more dry, decent.

DrSilverworm (9671) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - MAR 9, 2016
Bottle shared by tmoney99. Dark fruit, herbal character, bit of roast, ash, more spicy than I’d like. Bit of smoke? Kind of soft, moderate carbonation. Medium to bigger body, mild chewiness. Dark brown color, kind of clear. Ring of tan head. Some bits of lace. Moderate-plus bitter taste, light to moderate sweet. Mildly watery feel, but overall, nice flavor, very different, interesting stuff. Good for 5oz but more may have dragged for me.

Où, Quand, Comment : Dégustée en fût au Vices & Versa à Montréal (été 2007).
Visuel : Couleur : Brune très foncée. Apparence : quasi-opaque.

Bottle. Pitch black with a huge mocha head with great retention and nice lacing. Aroma is coffee, roasted malt, dark chocolate and herbal notes. Flavor is similar to the aromas with a rich malty profile, herbal hops and a moderately bitter finish with a hint of alcohol. Medium body with below average carbonation and a creamy mouthfeel. Pretty good and well balanced.

Dark brown, tan and lasting head. Medium body, moderate roast flavor, mild mouthfeel with restrained heat and carbonation, avg length. Dry, moderate bitterness. Roast barley flavor, yeasty. Ok. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Black with a ring of moka foam. Slightly toasted, ripe dark fruit, vinous. Mainly sweet, very low bitterness. Medium body, a little thin with a soft carbonation. Easy to drink, a little shy on the flavor. A nice introduction to porter style but not a breakout.

Tried this a few weeks back and forgot to rate. Chocolate, toasted grain, caramel. I remember lots of dried/steeped fruit. Wasnt blown away but I remember quite liking it. Worth another try (and probably a rating tweak).
