On tap at Le Saint-Bock. Hazy copper with a small beige head, some retention, leaving little lacing. Aroma is of roasted malts, hazelnuts, liquorice, toasted malts and chocolatey notes. Taste is mildly sweet with roasted malts, hazelnuts, toasted malts, caramel, liquorice and resinous bitterness. Medium body. Medium-high carbonation. Resinous and chocolatey finish. Even though it’s a secondary flavor, the liquorice is really a turn-off for me in this beer, hindering drinkability and enjoyability. swiseman (498) - Fredericton, New Brunswick, CANADA - SEP 12, 2015

Dusty scent. Velvet body. Moderate hops. Foamy lace on black beer. Like a light hoppy porter or a black IPA....haha.

En fût à l’Isle de Garde. Couleur noire, mousse beige. Arôme de torréfaction un peu de noisette et herbes. En bouche, notes de grains torréfié, céréale, houblons. Assez bien équilibrée. Très bonne. HogTownHarry (6622) - Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, CANADA - MAR 11, 2015
May 26, 2013 - on draught (?) at Volo. "Époque? Alpaca? It smells like a llama!!!" Anyway. Brown-black (opaque - duh) with an attractive creamy tan head, nice legs. Roasty aroma - like a solid porter with plenty of extra green herbal bitterness to it - but yeah, right, it’s that non-style "black IPA" again ... whatever. Taste follows, but has less character - the roast character is weak and flabby, and the bitterness seems wan and grassy after the herbal borderline resin freshness on the nose - meh. Airy, fairly solid body, long bitter finish but like scorched grass really, and I hate to say it, but needs more roast/malt character. sammyboyy (70) - Shawinigan, Quebec, CANADA - JAN 15, 2015
