Inspired by Belgian-style triples, La Buteuse is an amber colored beer topped with a generous head featuring champagne-like bubbles. Exhilarating sweet, malty aromas are complemented by an exotic spice fragrance provided by the yeast. A Belgian triple-inspired beer with a New World twist.

On tap at Boswell and three bottles in the pass if I recall. Amber with a tall whit foam with big bubbles. Aroma is from Belgian-style triple malt and yeast, spicy. Same on the taste and sweet. Medium body and high carbonation. Long yeasty and spicy finish.

Bel quilibre.

This sample was brewed in 2012, so this rating is more reflective of its aging ability. The malt character remains prevalent, overpowering any remaining yeast characteristics. At this point; it no longer resembles a tripel.

Bottle from local beer store. This beer is exceptional! It has an exceptional complex taste. One of the best beer of its kind. Not always available, even in specialized stores. It may be brewed only for a certain period or for a limited quantity. A real pleasure to drink. At 10%, I may wish TDD to sell it in smaller bottles, or I may share it with friends.

750ml bottle. Pours a hazy orange-yellow with lots of sediment floating around and a huge, frothy, long lasting, off-white head that leaves curtains of lace. Sweet, fruity aroma of apricot, grapes, yeast, caramel, bread and spice. Sweet, fruity flavour of peach, orange, caramel, yeast, bread, spice and white wine in a dry, bitter, warming finish. Medium body with an oily texture and average carbonation. Very nice.

Bottle thanks to Youri! Pours hazy orange, medium beige creamy head, dissipates fairly quickly, decent lacing. Aroma is Brett out the wazoo, grass, basement aromas, honey and floral. Flavor is medium plus sweet, medium funky, loads of Brett and honey. Medium body, high carbonation. Just too damn sweet to be enjoyable.
