pours very dark brown, almost black, with a tall medium dark beige head, some retention. vanilla, maple, roasted sweetness, spices, booze, light smoke. chocolate but roasted profile slightly lacking. decent resinous-grassy hops. lively carbonation, medium body. nicely balanced woody character. solidfunk (8941) - Washington D.C., Washington DC, USA - MAR 16, 2013
Bourbon influence is strong here. Pours black with good lacing and head. Aroma of strong bourbon - a little unbalanced actually. Some vanilla and coffee as well. Booze in finish. Ok but overpriced and overhyped. Bottle thanks to Delires des terroirs for finding this one in the back for me. laiti (8468) - Tampere, FINLAND - AUG 20, 2016

Foams a lot when pouring. Aroma sweet bourbon notes, vanilla and some coconut. Somewhat foamy palate. Flavour has coconut, vanilla, coffee and woody whisky notes. Warming alcohol in the dry finish. Good.

Almost certain I sampled this at the last station I stopped at during THE FESTIVAL with Andrew. If there was a different stout there, please let me know, as this was 50 or so beers into the session. Pours a deep brownish black body with thin chocolate brown lacing. Aroma is chocolate, light booze, oak and bourbon. Mouthfeel is medium to full with notes of roasted chocolate malts, wood, chocolate syrup, bourbon, sweet vanilla, nuts and maple. BMan1113VR (7931) - Los Angeles, California, USA - APR 28, 2013
Bottle from an old trade (Dated 4/2012). Now available locally. Pours with a very dark brown, but not quite inky pour, medium sized fluffy brown head. Medium retention, good lace. Aromas are of coffee, dark chocolate, pancakes and bourbon (typical morning). Some minerality, very mild esters, vanilla, lactone, lightly spicy spirit character. Medium caramel to butterscotch roundness. Flavors are vinous and possibly a touch tart (definitely low pH for an imperial stout). Dark fruits, currant, light barrel, dark chocolate and caramel. I’d say there is definitely an infection starting up (which is a shame). Still quite drinkable now. Barrel character is moderate to light, but there is a medium strong tannin influence on the mouthfeel. A bit thin, livelier carbonation than expected. Medium warmth. Glad I drank this on now.
