COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This imperial stout, aged in bourbon barrels, gives notes of roasted malt on a coffee, dark chocolate and caramel background. The velvety palate is sustained by a sagacious amount of alcohol warmth that give this beer the taste and feel of a fine spirit.

pours very dark brown, almost black, with a tall medium dark beige head, some retention. vanilla, maple, roasted sweetness, spices, booze, light smoke. chocolate but roasted profile slightly lacking. decent resinous-grassy hops. lively carbonation, medium body. nicely balanced woody character.

Almost certain I sampled this at the last station I stopped at during THE FESTIVAL with Andrew. If there was a different stout there, please let me know, as this was 50 or so beers into the session. Pours a deep brownish black body with thin chocolate brown lacing. Aroma is chocolate, light booze, oak and bourbon. Mouthfeel is medium to full with notes of roasted chocolate malts, wood, chocolate syrup, bourbon, sweet vanilla, nuts and maple.

dans un verre ballon une belle couleur opaque et en mettant le nez dans le verre plusieurs aromes sont melanger avec une forte dominance d alcool et de chocolat.en bouche un melange de cafe et chocolat et a la fin une touche l alcool vient fermer le tout. a prendre par une soiree froide d hiver elle reconforte je vous la recommande a tous par stef73

750 shared by Marcus. Pours very dark brown with a beige/tan smear. Aroma is bourbon/wine. Reboot brain. There’s a lot bourbon/alcohol in the aroma. Full bodied. Flavor is arguably a bit tannic/sour with smooth bourbon and dark toast malt. It’s very complex and tasty.

Bottle - 750ml. Pours an opaque black body with a good beige foamy head. Strong, rich malty/hoppy aroma with chocolate, plummy, vanilla, and bourbon hints. Alcohol is subtle. Its robust malty/hoppy taste carries oaky and bourbon notes. Ends with a long, warming, unusual licorice finish. Interesting.

Bottle, shared with Parksy and Grippitis. Very dark pour, super-lively tan head. Aroma is full of hard roast, bitter chocolate, some licorice, with a touch of funk. On the palate, the funk becomes more evident, not dominating, but certainly assertive. Nowhere near the proportion in Bellwood’s Donkey Venom for example, but it is definitely here, and whether it is an infection or not, it made the drinking experience highly pleasurable. Panning through other top-raters, there are a couple of ratings that describe a light sourness, so I’m not the only one. Interesting and cool. A lightly soured BA impy!

Poured deep dark brown with a frothy beige head. Aroma of vanilla, roast malt, dark fruit and chocolate. Full body, quite vinous, chocolate, dry, sweet end.
