Draught at Churchkey, courtesy of the staff. Clear golden color, medium white head, nice lacing. Aroma of white pepper and malt. Taste is moderately bitter throughout, with much better body, better mouthfeel, and overall more character than most U.S. versions of APA. Nice! -A veil of foam tops the clear golden gown.
-The diverse fruitiness of citrus fruit and lemongrass is spread onto the cereal haystack, for an overall subtle, but very enjoyable aroma.
-This fruity character follows the clever hay-like maltiness.
-Body is highly drinkable, as crisp as a Helles or German-style Pilsener.
What if you dig deeper?
-Finishes with a beautiful herbal hop touch; this is more bitter than your usual brewpub "blonde".
-A discrete earthy hop touch proposes lime alongside the whispering tree bark.
-This is a perfect middle-ground for the micro-fearing masses and the traveling beer geeks.
On tap at the brewpub a few times, in ale and lager formats.
Pours hazy golden yellow with a small white top. Aroma is straw grains and small vegetal and hop presence. Taste is straw and cereal malts with a small bitterness in the finish. JulienHuxley (5979) - Sherbrooke, Quebec, CANADA - MAR 13, 2010
UPDATED: MAY 2, 2010 Tap at the brewpub. Clear straw-yellow pour with little-no head. Very pleasant surprise in the aroma, nice citrus notes, light malts and spicy hops. Taste is sweet but very well balanced. Palate is very light and refreshing. The good surprise of the day. blackmetal (249) - Calgary, Alberta, CANADA - JAN 1, 2015
Much like a typical blonde but more bitter as well as I caught some herbal notes. Solid brewery and another solid beer.

Sweet, lightly fruity and grainy aroma with mild, citrus, grassy, herbal hop character is restrained but clean and fresh. Brilliantly clear blonde body is topped by a bright, white, fine bubbled head that laces well. Grainy malt flavour is offset by crisp bitterness and very subdued hop flavours. Sweetness gets a bit sticky if allowed to warm and a doughy yeast note emerges. Lively carbonation to the refreshing light body - a real thirst quencher. Sampled on tap at the brewpub with MartinT and Olivier_MTL. veronneaupy (241) - Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec, CANADA - JUN 21, 2014

(Rating #1289)
