COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

In a bottle at Thristy & Miserable. A lovely saison that drinks lighter than its stated abv. Very refreshing and quaffable, which makes that abv all the more deadly. Very similar in aroma and flavour to a traditional Belgian saison, with perhaps a bit more grass in the nose and more citrus in the taste.

600 ml bottle. Quiet pour with moderate carbonation and a grainy spent mash aroma. The beer has a gold colour, a thick and durable white head and good lace. It has a light tart beginning with yeasty notes expanding into the middle. The modest finish has sour notes and hints of hop dryness at the very end. A less than mediocre saison!

Bottle at home. Has a hazy dark straw colour with a big off-white head. Aroma of grass, dry hay. phenols, white bread, lime and spices. Flavour with more grass, spices and fruity undertones of mango and lime. Sweet malt in the background as well. A little metal too. Has a slick mouth feel, medium body, and medium to heavy bitterness. Wonderful aroma. Tasteful but with rough edges, and is pretty bitter.

Nonshaugen (681) - Fetsund, NORWAY - AUG 20, 2017
375 ml, bottle conditioned, BB March 14th 2018. Hazy, light golden amber, thin white head, rich carbonation, loads of powdery sediments. Aromas of fruits and yeast. Mouthfeel is fizzy and dry. Taste is sour, funky, horse blanket, very typical farmhouse style beer. Love the style, but as a Farmhouse Ale it’s very main stream.

I went to get this one in Aylmer since LCBO started selling this one by pack of 24, later you could buy it by unit. An ok saison. I was looking for this one as it was part of LCBO Spring 2017 collection
