Brewed in collaboration with Yvan De Baets of Brasserie de la Senne. This hazy blonde beer is brewed with rye and Nelson Sauvin hops. The aroma is quite floral and the flavor arrives in three stages: the first is reminiscent of rye bread, followed by an evolving fruity and herbal note, and ending with a long-lasting finish that encourages you to dive right back in. The name comes in part from a Belgian insult, “schieven architek”, used by the people of the Marolles district of Brussels to criticize architect Joseph Poellart who built the enormous Palais de Justice which they felt ruined the neighborhood. The second part comes from a common Quebecois swear word

The Trou du Diable Version is in 500ml bottles only (and on tap)!

Pint at The Cat. Hazy light golden with a modest white head. Citrus, peppery and spicy, a touch metallic, moderate fruity esters, light wheat and yeast, medium-ish body, relaxed carbonation, dry with a little more bitterness than expected and a lightly fruity and spicy finish. Decent.

33 cl bottle from Beergium, bottled 13/7/16. Hazy, yellow to orange colour, good white head. Aroma is quite sweet with some herbs and banana. Can’t find much by way of flavour, spiciness dominates with some malts. Fairly high carbonation with medium bitterness towards the end. A little rough.

On tap in Moeder Fontainas. Hazy orange amber colour, smart white head. A lovely well balanced ale, slightly sweet and spicy with luscious malts and moderately moreishly bitter. Just a nice reminder of yeastiness being there. Lovely yum yum.

---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from Halles St-Jean. Aroma: intense citrusy, lemony and wheaty aroma. Some spices as well. App: hazy straw, huge white head, big bubbles lacing. Taste and palate: light to medium body, high carbonation, fruity and earthy, light bitter finish. Overall: a refreshing beer. Not exactly something I usually crave for but it’s well done. Enough amount of fruits both in the nose than in mouth. Good palate. Well done.
