On tap at La Souche. Clear/yellow blond with a small white head. Aroma is discrete with notes of smoke, banana, other fruits and slight hops. There’s much more smoke in taste along with fruits and a slight herbal finish. Well carbonated. Light body. Easily drinkable, but there’s not much complexity in there and this one is pretty straightforward.

A clear blonde weizen with a thin lacing off white head. In aroma, sweet fruity malt, bananas spiced bacon fat, OK. In mouth, a nice smooth fruity malt with light bacon, smokeyness, a bit light bodied. On tap at Vices et Versa, Nov. 3 2012.

on tap at la souche, qc. hazy golden, orange tint, with a small white cap, little retention, no lacing. very few banana esters, some wheat, very hint o acidity. very nice smoked profile. almost aggressive carbonation, light body, decent but almost bland herbal-grassy finish. disappointed.

4oz sample @ Churchkey, DC. copperish pour, golden head. aroma, earthly/yeasty smoked malts with some lingering Hefe esters and fruits. flavors, outstanding smoked malts, perfect balance on this one with a touch of hefe elements, mild citrus notes, yeasty, smoke is just everywhere without being over the top while leaving a very mild citrus fruit bitterness in the finish.

Draft at Churchkey. Murky brown, large thick tan head, massive lacing. Aroma of alcohol, butterscotch, vanilla. Taste is very smooth, caramel, light spice. Decent.

The pour reveals a cloudy dark gold color with a medium, offwhite head. Superb aroma of smoked malt, bubble-gum and wheat. Solid flavor of smoked malt, bubble-gum, wheat and mild banana esters. The body is light to medium with a creamy texture and gentle carbonation. This is a very good and refreshing beer, I wish I was drinking this right now!

Tap at the brewpub. Hazy yellow appearance with forthy white head. This beer looks, and smells, like a weiss. The smoke is verrry discrete beneath all that yeast and wheat. Taste is actually a bit smokier than the nose (strange?) but everything is very tampered and mellow, a bit sweet. It is a good session beer, but nothing representative of the smoked style.

On tap @ Brouhaha. Pours amber red with a medium creamy head. Nice lacing. Aroma of smoked bacon, some hops and dark fruits. Taste smoked bacon, some dark fruits and hops. Quite smoked. Overall good but a bit too much straightforward.
