Formerly known as Blind Pig Dunkel Weizen

This is a medium-bodied, unfiltered dark wheat beer with a smooth, gently sweet character. The flavor has notes of chocolate and caramel combined with the cereal malt flavor contributed by malted wheat. Blind Pig is a very unique beer with few other examples of the German Dunkel Weizen style brewed in the Northwest, and certainly none as tasty.

this was a random pickup in Seattle when the mood for a dark wheat hit, but it was average in just about every possible way. the only thing that stood out a little was the slight tobacco aspect in the flavor, which was cool. a little too light and simple otherwise."

Draught at the brewpub in Everett
Muddy brown color. Also the aroma and flavor are muddy, the wheat is not well defined, and there is a distinct character of stale water; very light banana aroma, mild spicy flavor; ordinary bitterness.

Rated from notes taken 7 Aug 2011 -- A marginal Dunkel, flavor was there, but watery. Would much prefer a more assertive profile.

Fatehunter (2641) - Corbett, Oregon, USA - SEP 13, 2014
Pours a half finger of head on a dark brown, almost black body. The aroma has some chocolate malt, and some burnt malt. The taste starts with burnt malt, and dies out with some chocolate and mild sweet note. Short but good profile. The texture is crisper with soft edges. It tastes more like a black lager than a dunkelweizen. Either way it’s not bad.

Draft at Olympia brewpub. Pours dark brown with ruby highlights and white head. Cherry, caramel, chocolate. Wheat. No cloves or banana. Taste: moderately sweet, malt-forward. Not a lo of depth, but nice. Roasty, pleasant, with medium body and a slick oily texture.

weihenweizen (4211) - Charleston, West Virginia, USA - JUL 19, 2014
Refrigerated 12 oz. brown bottle poured into a weizen glass. Pours opaque dark brown with medium brown highlights with small beige head. Aroma is chocolate, medium body, medium carbonation, and some medium bubble lacing. Taste is chocolate and herbal hops. Hop forward for a dunkleweizen, not my thing.

Draft pour. Pours dark with a nice nutty, malty aroma. A little caramel flavor. Sweet malt finish. Pretty good beer.

I did not care for this. Not my style of beer. Very toasty tasting. Nice color for the beer

Blom (848) - Sorø, DENMARK - MAY 26, 2014
A nice dunkelweizen. Goes from malty sweetness with nut-like aromas to a mild citric ending. Refreshing and highly drinkable.

BREWMUSKCLES (2759) - New Jersey, USA - APR 12, 2014
pleasant smooth malty brew with a bit of sweetness and a hint of butterscotch to balance that smoothness.
