Hazy amber with a creamy head. Dusty and dry nose that is slightly grassy and citrusy. Tastes like flowers. Not that I have eaten flowers. I think. Sweet and malty finish with a floral note. Thanks Matt.

More of a great saison than a biere de garde. Hazy amber, big white head, nose of yeast. Taste is sweet caramel, yeast and bready, pepper and spice. Sweet and spicey finish.

glkaiser (1214) - Seattle, Washington, USA - JUL 13, 2007
Bottle from the Monk. Nice cloudy copper with huge off white creamy head. Musty aroma with a slight bit of hops. Musty almost moldy taste really just didn’t do it for me.

ChillCoat (1029) - Concord, California, USA - DEC 28, 2005
Bottled. 750ml. Pours murky, light copper color with a whitish hue. Big white head that leaves heavy lacing. Aroma smells like corn or rice with some yeast and coriander-like notes. Thick viscosity but a somewhat watery taste. Spicy with some slight fruit flavors. Somewhat medicinal. Dry, bitter finish that seems out of balance.

pkbites (947) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - DEC 5, 2010
Cloudy orangy pour. Smells bready/caramel like a bock. Smooth caramel flavor. Little malt/hops in the aftertaste. It’s rather nice.

UPDATED: DEC 24, 2009 Bottle, bb 12/02/11. Pours copper with lively head. Mild earth and spice, aromatic herbs in the aroma. Flavor is textured grain, lightly sweet, mild caramel. Beautifully balanced malt-hop finish. Great farmhouse type beer.
