Pretty decent pilsner. Light fruit notes. But light malt too. Drinkable not not special.

Würzig herber Antrunk mit deutlicher Getreidigkeit. Wenig süß, getreidig bleibend, rund. Herber voller Mittelteil, weiterhin süßlich getreidig. Erfrischendes gutes Bier. 11/11/10/11//11

It’s hazy golden with a white head. The aroma has notes of fresh bread, flower and fruit and the slightly sweet flavor is very pleasant and soft with the same notes. Towards the end it becomes a little dry. Really nice! Ernest (7694) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - MAY 9, 2013
400mL glass at the Biergarten.
Head is initially average sized, frothy, white, mostly lasting.
Body is cloudy dark yellow.
Aroma is moderately malty (grain, husks), lightly hoppy (herbs), with light notes of soap and gum.
Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly sweet, moderately bitter, husky.
Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation.
I walked by this place a dozen times since it’s two blocks from my apartment and on the way to the river and supermarket, but never bothered to stop because I knew Lederer was part of the icky Tucher/Oetker conglomerate. Then I saw on RateBeer that this place had an unfiltered so-called Kellerbier. And since today is Ascension day here in Germany and pretty much everything is closed, what better excuse would I have to sit in their nice garden on a 70F-degree day? Sadly, though, the beer is husky junk...terrible malt character and very little hops in the nose...some off notes underneath as well. Decent balance in the mouth but very grainy in the aftertaste, like sucking on dry hay. Only a small step up from swill. I feel sad for Americans (etc.) that come all the way to the heart of Franconia and think this stuff is representative of the German brewing culture. And I feel even worse for the Germans that just don’t care, and sit here drinking Lederer as if it’s the same as anything else. And at 3.20 euros for 400mL, it’s almost an insult to your wallet. At the Kultur brewery in Nuremberg, I found this after seeing the famous courtroom and wandering down the street. This was one of the better beers i had in two weeks in Germany. Orange and of course unfiltered. White lacing head. Rich malt and yeast flavor. Crisp hops and lightly bitter. Great palate. yespr (45425) - Copenhagen O, DENMARK - JUL 15, 2011
From tap at the kultur brauerei. Pours hazy to murky orange with a small white head. Aroma is mild fruity, yeasty and slight citrusy. Fruity, yeasty and mild sweet mixed with a light bitterness.
