Sample at APN. Really wanted to like this but it was a boozy, sweet, mess. No hops, no balance, just not good. Couldnt finish the sample I was served. ryanfolty (2553) - Bourbon County, Minnesota, USA - FEB 4, 2013
On tap at Winterfest 2013. Dark orange pour. Malty and some alcohol, don’t have notes on the hops for this one which is odd considering the style. BVery (10510) - Plymouth, Minnesota, USA - FEB 3, 2013
Tap at Winterfest 2013. Malty, bold booziness, and quite sweet. Brownish-orange pour. deyholla (11602) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - JUN 19, 2012
On tap at SPSBF. Pours a hazy deep amber with a yellowish brown head that dissipates slowly to the edges. Aroma has notes of citrus and bitter grapefruit with backing sweet malts. Flavor again has citrus and grapefruit for the hop profile and has a subdued sweet grain backing. arminjewell (9650) - East Lansing, Michigan, USA - MAR 18, 2012
Pour at Winterfest 2012 is hazy orange with white head, aroma has notes of slight pine and grass, touch of grapefruit notes with a hint of biscuit. Taste is a mix of caramel and toffee, slight grassy and pine notes with a touch of citrus, finishing fairly dry and bitter. Just ok, the alcohol shines through a bit as well.

Very very mild for a supposed IIPA. I would say closer to a PA. If that. Hopefully this brewery can turn their act around. portableparty (2350) - Blaine, Minnesota, USA - JAN 31, 2012
Bottle to snifter. Pours hazy dark amber red in color with a fairly quick soapy off white head that fades to a wispy film and shows signs of lacing. Aroma is a mix of caramel alcohol malt and burnt sugar and I get a slight scent of anise. Taste is sweet and bitter with resinous piny hops and caramel, but comes off as burnt sugary alcohol. Palate is slick oily and watery with a dry warming finish. Nothing to tell your friends about. Eells (64) - Minnesota, USA - DEC 9, 2011
I go up north to visit my father off Leech Lake a couple times each summer. I was excited when I heard of the brewery openning less than ten minutes from his house. I toured the brewery multiple times in the summer of ’11, and although strong IPA’s are my favorite style, this one missed wide. It’s not a bad brew, so I hold optimism for the future years. They were much behind demand for much of ’11 and rushed many beers.... trail_and_ale (43) - Eden Prairie, Minnesota, USA - FEB 8, 2011
This beverage took me by storm at Winterfest 2011. Perfectly balanced golden appearance with a thin head. Strong hop/citrus aromas greet you before the hops attack the sides of your tongue like a Superior gale. Nice malt balance acts as a flood wall to the hops. Very strong and very delicious, this was my top-rated beer at Winterfest. islay (2734) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - FEB 5, 2011
The third beer I sampled at Winterfest 2011 in St. Paul on 2-4-11. Approximately 2 oz. pour. Pours surprisingly dark in color. Amber / dark copper with small amount of beige head. Malty, fruity smell. Juicy aroma features fruit rollup and caramel scents. Sweet, juicy, unfortunately metallic taste features raisins and caramel flavors. Off, metallic finish and aftertaste. Medium body. Flat in the palate.
