Also sold as Blanche de Quenast in Dia/Ed supermarkets, as Floreffe Wit for Floreffe Abbey, as Mediterranea for the Italian market, as Blanche de Francorchamps, as t Geheim van de Smit, as Manneken Pis, and as LAlsacienne Blanche de lEt.
Ingredients: Malted barley; wheat (40%); coriander; bitter orange peel; sugar; hops; yeast.
Blanche de Bruxelles owes its natural cloudiness to the large percentage (40 %) of wheat that goes into its composition. The natural spice aromas of coriander and bitter orange peels are added during the brewing process. The brewing method, which includes infusion, is very slow. The beer, which is not filtered, is bottled and refermented with yeast and brewing sugar. You need only take a sip of this delicious drink to appreciate the fresh and mellow flavour with its hint of orange. It is really not like any other beer. Always served chiled, between 3C and 6C.

UPDATED: JUN 5, 2008 On draft at Oldsmar Tap House. Pours cloudy light gold, with tons of very fluffy white head and prominent lacing. Aroma of banana, spicy wheat, lemon, wet cider, a bit of chalk. Flavor is lemon, clove, cider, wet wheat, slight bubble gum. Very thin bodied, watery finish. Quite drinkable.

33 cl bottle, has the "mannekin pis" label which makes you think this is for tourists for sure, very cloudy, slight wheat beer with nice fluffy head, some lemony flavor not much else

Draught at Henry St. A.H. served in the cloudy Blanche de Bruxelles glass. Yellow color with a frothy white head. Grassy and citrus aromas. Clean wheaty body with a light citrus, almost lemonadey flavor, with a slight dusting of coriander. Medium body with lively carbonation. If anything it could be a very refreshing summery slammer. Dont look for too many nuances, however.

Smells like peed in cherrios with sugar. Pours medium cloudy yellow with a fuss of white foam. Has a good wheat with built in orange peel flavor. Only turn-off is the peeing kid on the bottle in the american version. Too bad.

The whitest beer Ive ever seen. Looks like lemonade. Has the spicy coriander wit thing going on in the nose, but has an unfortunate flavor that is spice and just off. One really isnt bad, I mean Id drink it ahead of Bud, though if I had to drink more than one, Id probably just pass. The price was right, but I think if I get in the mood for a wit again, Ill just go with a Hoegaarden.

33 cL bottle, thanks to MiP. Pours slight hazy yellow with a dense white head. Citrus fruity and coriander spiced aroma. Flavour is light wheaty, citrus/lemon fruity and coriander spiced, simple and straight forward. Ends with a lingering citrus note. A bit thin bodied.

Bottle, 33cl. It looks nice, with a milky-white, yellow pour with a medium-sized white head. Quite citrusy nose with a little touch of spices and pale malt. A weak sour touch too. Nice, citrusy flavor with a little spicyness and malts. The spices is quite subdued in both aroma and flavor, but it shows more of itselves after a while. Quite thin body, but not too thin, rather pleasant to drink. The finish has a pleasant bitterness in addition to the initial flavors. A nice, quaffable beer, well suited for thirst-quenching in the summer. (080211)

12 oz. bottle poured into tumbler- poured slightly cloudy thin yellow, huge white head slowly whisped away, aroma of yeast, malt, and various light citrus. Hits the mouth with a thin-medium body, can detect a bit of raw yeast, some citrus, finish is clean but very short.

Bottle. The pour is a bit more uniform than most witbiers, as in even after the sediment is added there isnt any difference of appearance. The aroma starts oof in the glass as a mild grapefruit or kiwi and turns within a few gulps into a balsamic and olive oil tone and by end of pint a honey lavendar. Flavor is not as intense as the nose which is a let down- reminds me of lemon or orange water. As with the flaver the body was very thin and the finish was short.
