330ml bottle. Very dark brown almost black colour with one finger of tan head. Aromas of caramel, plums, malt, chocolate and raisins. Sweet flavour with notes of caramel, fruit, roasty malts and finishing with plums. Medium body, low carbonation with a short finish. Good.

Dark brown, off-white head. Aroma: dried fruits, sugar. Flavors of dried fruits, plums and some caramel. Finishes into a bitter, alcoholic aftertaste. Expected a bit more from this dubbel. Ok beer, though.

[bottle] Dark fruit aroma, with some sugar and plum. Pours a ruby color, with a thin ring of foam. Flavors are of roasted malts, sweet plum, date and prune with slightly spicy, alcoholic finish. Not too complex, but quite drinkable.

UPDATED: MAR 4, 2011 Bottle. A bit murky reddish brown body, with a huge beige head. The nose is a bit weak, with dried fruits, sugar and some roast. The flavor is more pronounced, with roasted malt, dried fruits, caramel and sugar. Quite full body. The finish has a little spicyness. The beer is too anonymous, but pleasant. Rating: 6-4-6-4-12-3.2. 070511

Bottle, 6%, as Durboyse Brune. A ruby tinted brown beer with a big, coarse, beige head leaving lacings. Spiced, anise aroma with lots of white sugar and dried fruits. Some yeast too. The flavor is a bit heavy on the alcohol even though its not stronger than 6%. White sugar, too much anise and some dried fruits as well. Heavy carbonation, hard. Medium body, slighlty warming. Some metallic hints in the end, as well as pepper and anise, and of course white sugar and dried fruits. Decent, not very good or interesting, but not foul. 110304

0.33l bottle from Durbuy under name Durboyse brune. Dark brown with a red heu. Small beige head that diminished quickly but left some floating spots on the top. Very light fruity aroma, taste is also fruity with hint of some spice. It seems that it was a bit to cold for tasting so all flavors was a bit fade. Anyway it is a good, well balanced Brune beer.
