Notas ligeras a chocolate. En general una buena cerveza de abadia, ligera pero a la vez potente. Bin equilibrada, elegante, de buena estructura y con un final dulce y agradable en virtud del azucar aadido.

appearance: dark cola brown, big thick creamy medium tan head. aroma: caramel, toffee, raisin, candied orange peel, star anise. taste: toffee, light brown sugar, raisins and plums; then a bit herbal, with notes of licorice and clove; yeasty undertone. finish: slightly funky, slightly herbal, a bit astringent and metallic; alcohol not terribly well-hidden. notes: Decent enough; felt like a rough-around-the-edges Chimay Red. Bottle from the Rare Beer Club, aged a few years.

Me encanta su complejidad, mezcla entre esteres de levadura, maltas y azcares. En boca desarrolla a fruta de hueso, ciruela, azcar moreno. Tiene un buen paso y el alcohol perfectamente disimulado. Est genial

I hope that contamination is the reason for this awful beer; probably it is, when I read other comments. Bottle pours clear dark-brown beer with a beige head. The aroma is weird; something chemical predominates, a little licorice-like but then more towards something oily. Taste has the according tone, but the beer is still drinkable, although not nice. Licorice, brown sugar, oil. Im curious to know if this is how it should taste, or what happened if it isnt. But not gonna try and buy again...

Pours dark brown with light beige head. Nose is rich and with toffee notes together with some chocolate and caramel touch. Taste is also caramel, dried fruits and some dark berries. Palate is not to long but still agreeable and round. Nice warmer at the fireplace.

Bottle. BB 31.01.2017. Pours ruby brown with huge light beige head. Aroma of toffee and a mix of fruits and berries, sour ones, with a chocolaty layer even. I dont know, its weird, but I also get a spruce needle hint which makes it very pleasantly Christmasy. Turns a bit alcoholic as it warms. Tastes of toffee and slightly chocolaty sweet, with red berries and dark fruits prominent; toffee and caramel sweetness is most dominant but it finishes quite bitter of the berries. Very crisp yet fine carbonation, metallic kind of dryness on the palate and in finish. Light to medium body. Alcohol well covered - theres only a tingle of heat present. Pleasant and more interesting than an average Dark Belgian, but falls short of the elite level.

Pours dark nut brown with fluffy off-white/beige head. Aroma is dried plum, raisin, toffee, peanuts, liquorice, roasted malt, some alcohol. Taste is fruity, grapes, citrus, toffee, liquorice, caramel, roasted vegetables, some wood notes. Very high carbonisation, abv also shows up. Otherwise, nice beer.

Almost opaque dark brown color, with a copper hue, and storming activity. Slightly creamy light brown 3 finger head, lasting around 5-10 minutes, with a bit of lacing. Flavors of dark berries, cherries, oak, nuts, molasses, citrus, herbal spices. Thick fruity sweetness with sour earthy spices. Slick oily medium body with crispy carbonation. Strong finish, a little dry and sour like wine, lingering dark fruits, orange and clove, with a sour candy like feel of plums. Deliciously flavored, and a complex palate. Feels like Port and would serve this as an appetizer from all that sugar, thus not very fresh, yet warming. Overall excellent quality craft.

0.33 bottle. Heavy and robust, with a strong roasted backbone and a subtle alcohol finish. Rich, warming and very pleasant.
