Bouteille 33cl, Lille.

Pours hazy yellow with a frothy, lasting, white head. The aroma contains hops, grass, herbs, earth, yeast and some fruit. It tastes light sweet and only medium bitter with a long duration. Lively carbonation, medium body, slick texture. Not as bitter or complex as an IPA. A strange brew, I think. Really lacking the features it promises to have.

Decent, classic Belgian blonde with a solid hoppy twist. Medium carbonation.

Marduk (7912) - Reval, ESTONIA - MAR 31, 2017
330ml bottle. Clear dark amber color. Huge size, thick and frothy head, stays. Perfume, sweet malts, sweetish, bit minerals and slightly metallic notes in aroma. Alcohol, sausage?, malty, chalk, cookies and bit of yeast in taste. Chalky and sweet sweet malts in aftertaste. Crisp bubbly carbonation. Drinkable brew.

pours hazy bright golden with a very nice eggshell white head offering good retention and lacing. golden grapey maltiness, spent apricots, borderline rotten, fruity and spicy belgian yeast action, fairly bitter herbs, treacle, good slice of butter, disturbingly bitter earthy and dirty hops. bright carbonation, light to medium body, warming and almost hot spicy finish. weak high gravity blonde belgian ale with an awkward bitterness - not remotely close to a fun belgian ipa.

Gusher warning: This opened up with a rather big and completely unexpected gusher. Pour is clear golden with a high rocky white head that leaves intense lacing. Nose is of candi sugar and no hops. Some peppery alcohol and something I normally associate with oxidation. Taste is moderately sweet and again not too hoppy... Barely bitter, too. Some brown sugar, brown malt and more candi sugar. Pretty meh. Alcohol is pretty well hidden (not hot) but it still dries the mouth quite a bit. Body is light to medium, carbonation moderately high and mouthfeel is thus a bit fluffy. A little sticky on the lips. Meh... just a weak tripel and certainly not an hoppy beer...

Swing top bottle at Ron Blacks, Leuven. Golden amber, massive head. Spicy leafy aroma. Big strong sweet spicy grain flavour. Very smooth. Not my normal beer style but I quite like this one. Just bought the matching glass.

Bottle (330 ml). Clear golden with a frothy white head, good retention, leaving good lacing. Aroma of candi sugar, wet cereals, bread and grass. Taste is semi-sweet and fruity with bread, honeyed notes and mild spiciness. Medium body. Medium-high carbonation. Fruity finish. There’s not much positive to say about this one. It’s boring, flawed (borderline rotten notes despite being rather fresh) and not very easy drinking or complex.

19Oracolo78 (208) - ITALY - FEB 27, 2017
UPDATED: FEB 27, 2017 Birra di color oro leggermente opaco. Schiuma bianca, cremosa e molto persistente. All?olfatto agrumi ed erba.
