With its amber color, fruity and spicy bouquet, and its creamy foam, Leffe Biere de Noel is a beer full of character. 33cl bottle at home. Appearance: clear dark amber with medium, frothy off-white head. Aroma: nutmeg, clove, banana, sweet malts. Taste: pretty high sweetness and medium bitterness. Notes of sweet malts, some caramel, ripe banana and some nutmeg. Palate: medium bodied, sticky texture and medium carbonation.

Pours a dark amber/red with an off white head. Aroma is banana, cinammon, sweet. Taste is very sweet up front, strong cinammon, sweetness carrying throughout, some banana, spice, ending with the typical belgian yeast aftertaste with more spice. Medium bodied, medium carbonation Fantastic! One of the better belgians I've had to this point!

Bottle. I like this. A lot of caramel with a hint of spice. A bit thin maybe but very quaffable. Far better than a standard leffe.

UPDATED: JAN 10, 2018 On tap. Ruby colour, frothy head with nice lacing. Aroma is red fruit, quite much alcohol. Too heavy and alcoholic.

Bottle from Speciaalbierpakket. Aroma is sweetish brown malt with caramel, spicy notes, yeast, coriander, brown sugar. Flavour is fairly sweet and light bitter. Body is medium. On the sweet side, but still a very decent Belgian dark ale, just one of many.

Bottle from Coppers, Newcastle. Bright dark amber coloured with a thin white head. It has a very rich plum, malty and candy sugar flavours followed by spices and warming dried fruit on the smooth finish. Good.

Good Belgian ale. The hints of fruit and spice do give it a Christmas feel. The large sharing bottles are perfect for the Christmas meal. Good frothy head on the poor, balance of malt and hops, and good depth of flavour for ABV.
