COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
With its amber color, fruity and spicy bouquet, and its creamy foam, Leffe Biere de Noel is a beer full of character. Very expected during the holiday season, it continues the tradition of master brewers who kept their best barley and hops to brew once a year. Leffe Biere de Noel makes your aperitif a moment of intense flavor.

Pours dark copper with light copper coloured head. Malty aroma. Fairly hoppy, full-bodied flavour. Pleasant christmas beer; good with food.

33cl bottle. Raisins, herbal mix, roasted. Copperbrown, white to beige head, creamy to frothy head, lasting long, lacing. Full taste, caramel, raisins, herbs. Soft taste with some sharp hints. Slowly a little bitterness comes in, soft fizzy. I just liked it. Good, tasty beer.

Bottle at home. Variant of Leffe Brune but with a little more burnt caramel and a touch more bitterness. Lower in alcohol than most Christmas offerings but nevertheless an interesting, tasty beer.

UPDATED: DEC 18, 2015 The beer pours a soft almond colored foam, which collapses extremely fast. Only a little bit of foam forms, and a minimal bit of foam remains on top of the bear. The color of the beer is dark amber. The beer is nice and clear, very clear. The smell is nice, but very mild. Almost like water was aded to the beer, which is odd, because it came in the bottle (without the cap though). The smell has a little almond and some hops in it. The beer has the typical Leffe aroma, like all Leffe beers. This makes the smell somehow familiar, which is nice. The taste is better. I taste lemons, and a tiny bitter smoke flavor, together with some hops. The beer has a nice bitterness, balanced perfectly by the sweetness. There is also the typical Leffe flavor. The flavor is not strong enough though, it is not as good as aspects. It is not as fruity, sweet, spicy and warming as I aspect from a Christmas ale. A little disappointing, a pity.

0.33l bottle. Dark red color with nice browny head. Aroma of caramel, malt, spices, fruits and honey. Taste is bitter and sweet. It is extremely well balanced with just enough sweetness for a Christmas beer without it being too sweet.

Bottle from Beers of Europe. Mahogany colour with a white head. Raisins, chocolate, figs, black cherry aromas. Nice Crimbo feel. Cinnamon, coriander, dates, marzipan and chocolate flavours. Sweet and warming finish. Not bad at all.

Medium to dark amber with a frothy, lacy, somewhat lasting off-white head. Smells of malt, nut, soft roast, dried fruit, figs, caramel with a yeast that reminds me of Leffe Blond. Medium oily body with soft carbonation. Sweet caramel, nut, toasted malt, with a dry bitter nutty finish. Sweet and fruity with some faint spice. Nice and easy to drink.

One of my favorite Leffe variants. Introduced to me in 2012 in Belgium - in the U.S. we only find blond & brune. Nice one around the holidays with a pretty good overall balance on all fronts, but enough holiday spice to get you in the spirit.
