3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
A co-worker of mine found a bottle of this in his basement from his trip to Europe in the mid-90's. The date on the bottle said 12/97, so this has aged in his dark basement along with a small bottle of hoegaarden white for about 6-7 years. He was willing to trade me these beers for a bottle of my homebrew. I wasn't sure who got the better deal until I tried it. Suprisingly, this beer was still intact. It poored amber colored with a little head that quickly disappeared. The lacing on the glass was significant and the aroma was of licorice and pepper. The medium-bodied mouthfeel led to a taste that was predominantly licorice with a fruity, tingly-sweet finish. I have never tasted a fresh bottle of this beer, but when I do I will re-rate. It was just interesting to try an aged belgain.
PowerUnit (5) - New Brunswick, CANADA - JUL 18, 2017 does not count
The standard Belgium beer. Can’t go wrong with it, but it doesn’t quite wow you. surething_ii (372) - Šenkvice, SLOVAK REPUBLIC - JUL 14, 2017
Look: clear amber
Taste: leffe, everyone knows
Overall: very good considering it is a mass production eunck (212) - Hamburg, Hamburg, GERMANY - JUL 11, 2017
Clear amber beer with basically no head. Very complex and full aroma of several estery fruits, most notably banana, and other notes that seem somewhat artificial, almost like insectizide. The beer brings more to the nose than to the mouth though and when the nose gets used to the aroma, one could think he were drinking a Heller Bock. The beer has this thick palate that can almost be called oily, but not quite. Very drinkable altogether and ertainly more interesting than a thin Lager. Leffe Blonde piłem ostatnio 12 lat temu, więc ciężko mi porównać obie degustacje ;) Barwa bursztynowa, idealnie klarowne. Piana spora, drobna. biała. Aromat drożdżowy, owocowy. W smaku słodowe, drożdżowe, z mocnym akcentem owoców. Wysycenie wysokie. Całkiem smaczne.

Op fles en tap gedronken. Favoriet blond bier van mij. Redelijk zoet aroma. Mooie goud gele kleur. Erg helder. Zowel zoet als bitter. davedrinkinbeer (16) - Indianapolis, Indiana, USA - JUL 1, 2017
Very tasty Belgian Ale. Easy to drink, very refreshing and has a clean finish. This is a little sweeter than the other Leffe beer, the dark ale. Both are good beers IMO. tightslice (1313) - Redwood City, California, USA - JUN 30, 2017
Bottle pour at Facebook in Menlo Park, CA. Aroma is perfume, sweet corn cologne. Taste is sweet, slightly spiced corn punch, potpourri, mild grass. Not as terrible as I expected. 19Oracolo78 (206) - ITALY - JUN 28, 2017
UPDATED: JUN 28, 2017 Birra dal colore giallo paglierino. Schiuma bianca mediamente fine e persistente.
