Brown bottle, 33 cl, best before 08/03/09, via Importations Privées Bièropholie, savoured on September 20 2007; eye: amber with a reddish hue and caramel reflections, clear, average effervescence, nice creamy fluffy tan head, good lacing; nose: yeast, banana, caramelized malt, fruity, spices (with one reminding me of clove); mouth: creamy, light, caramelized malt, nice hops, grainy malt with a hint of acridness, a bit of spices (including clove), Belgian yeast is well present almost throughout the sip, surprising fanale where the banana dominates to be replaced by a nice hops mixed with caramel, lightly sweet, mildly bitter, medium body, not that carbonated; overall: very good FRANÇAIS Bouteille brune, 33 cl, meilleure avant 08/03/09, via Importations Privées Bièropholie, savourée le 20 septembre 2007; œil : ambrée avec une teinte rougeâtre et des reflets caramels, claire, effervescence moyenne, belle mousse havane crémeuse et nuageuse, belle dentelle; nez : levure, banane, malt caramélisé, fruitée, épices (dont un ressemblant au clou de girofle); bouche : crémeuse, légère, malt caramélisé, bon houblon, malt granuleux avec une légère âcreté, un peu d’épices (dont le clou de girofle), la levure belge est bien présente pendant presque toute la gorgée, surprenante finale où la banane domine pour être remplacé par la suite par un petit houblon mêlé de caramel, légèrement sucrée, moyennement amère, corps moyen, peu carbonatée; en résumé : très bonne

Just doesn’t have the viscosity to match the flavour....very watery mouthful for a beer of this type. Solid if unspectacular

This one pours a pretty red colour, with a small head that doesn’t last for too long. Aroma is floral, cherries, chololate, cinnamon. Flavor is smooth, very creamy. Taste: is an explosion in the mouth, flowers, honey, chocolate, cherries, cinnamon... but all of them very shy. I think to remember a heavier body years ago.

0.33L bottle. Nice clear brown colour. Small and stable head. Aroma of sweet malt. Alcoholic presence too strong with some spicines behinde it. Finish quite short.

Leffe Vieille Cuvee is on of those beers which you could spend hours analysing just like a good red wine. Its has a beautiful ruby colour with a creamy off white head. The aroma is complex and herbaceous with hints of grape and berries. The taste is just as complex with a subtle sweetness and a rich mouthfeel with a wine like finish. Highly recommend cellaring this beer till after its printed best before date as it evolves beautifully within the bottle. Leffe Vieille Cuvee is the classic Leffe which should remain unchanged for future beer lovers to enjoy!

Dark amber, almost brown in colour. Aroma is a little sweet and malty. Flavour is a good balance of sweetness, fruit and malt. The alcohol does dry out the top of the mouth somewhat but the texture is smooth and easy to drink overall.

[Sampled in 2003.] A that time one of my favorites with intensive notes of heavy fruity yeast, caramel, alcohol, spices, fine head, muddy color and my favorite Leffe-brew.

I surprisingly greatly enjoyed this one. This Leffe displays a fair light reddish brown pour with a fair, belgianesque off-white head. Its aroma somehow reminded me of my first unibroues with its characteristic yeastiness and warming alcohol (I had not had a belgian style for a while). Spicy yeastiness, estery, while the round palate displays uniform and smooth carbonation, at the same time strong and engaging. A superior Inbev offering.
