COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
At Left Coast Brewing Co. we pride ourselves on being one of the pioneers of Double IPA style craft beer. This hop monster uses Premium American 2– Row and a touch of light crystal malt to create a solid malt foundation. Five different Hop Varieties are used in the Hop Juice. It spends two weeks dry hopping in fermenter contributing to its great hop aroma. Starts out sweet and finishes with the crisp bitterness of a Double IPA. This drinkable blend will have you HOPPING till nights end.

(22oz bottle thanks to mar) Pours clear medium yellow with oily bubbles on the edges. Nose of biscuit, pineapple, and sweet oranges. Taste of grapefruit, bitter oranges, with a nice sweet balance. Medium body that finishes bitter in a good way. This is an excellent DIPA!

Bottle thanks to mar. Golden orange pour. Aroma is slightly light struck, but tons of citrus and caramel. Flavor is orange, spicy mint, orange rind, grapefruit and an excellent bitterness. Yum!

Aroma is strong, a deep, yet sweet molasses. Akin to Tower 10 I’d say. Color is copper all the way, slightly cloudy. Getting a lot of caramel and booze. The hops are apparent as well, but the bitterness is almost masked by the strength of the syrupy alcohol. Not getting much by way of florals or citrus, rather I’m smelling and tasting resin and sugar. For me, the Imperial mold has been broken by Pliny the Younger. If Russian River can make 11% abv taste so damn good, Left Coast could have made this brew a bit more enjoyable.

pint bottle from city liquor downtown.. pours a courageous, muddy, veiled orange/copper with a light head that disappears quickly.. the aroma is very inviting with floral notes dominating immediately and then followed by a pine crusted hop scent.. great aroma. initial hit to the palate is a punch of hops but then quickly followed by a sweet, caramel almost toasty barage of malty goodness .. Very well constructed for a double... the hops even out and play fair and with ever sip I am reminded that just because he has a beard it doesnt mean his skin isnt smooth.. This double IPA’s rough exterior is overshadowed by its smooth demeanor.. Very well constructed from start to finish with the floral aroma and finishing hops settling in and allowing the malts to join the team allowing the rest of the double to take form, a simple sweetness that pulls me back for more.. Ladies and Gentlemen, Mr. Billy D HOP JUICE has left the building and taken the ladies panties with him...Damn, thats a good double...

Bottle courtesy of mar. Clear yellow color. Aroma of sweet hops with heavy sap pine notes. Taste is easy hops with heavy sap pine notes. Taste is easy hops with a high level of sweetness and sappy pine hops. Tasty and has a wet enough finish to be solid.

Thanks to mar for sharing this bottle. Pours a yellowish-orange color with a white head. The aroma is citrus with some pine. This is what a beer like this is supposed to smell like. The flavor is orange citrus hops with a little pine mixed in. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy amber beer with an offwhite head. The aroma is hops, malt with some sweetness. The flavor is mainly hops with some malt. The palate is bitter. Overall a good beer with good balance.

A heartless mash of hops, hops and more hops. This double IPA hammers down lots of bitterness and, like many of its contemporaries, provides a floral aroma with the bite of smelling salt. Hop Juice’s flavor isn’t quite as exagerrated as it professes to be on the bottle, but it is, above all else, an acceptable brew. The mouthfeel isn’t as velvety as I’d expect from the ingredients, and the complexity is stunted in comparison to other, more drinkable, double IPAs. This one is just alright.

From notes. A big, bad hop bomb that is real easy to drink. Juicy, resinous, citrus, spicy florals, subtle soap. Mild pale malt sweetness and very subtle hint of toast. Medium/full body, balanced, a bit resiny. Solid.
