Poured from tap into a large snifter. Light but deep reddish/amber with a thick white head that gives way to thick lacing. Aroma is citrus and pine. Taste matches, but definitely heavy on the pine. Very dry finish that lasts for awhile, giving way to slight sweetness. lweiberg (139) - Omaha, Nebraska, USA - AUG 13, 2013
Lovely imperial IPA, and very representative of the style. Loved the barnyard, cheese, basement aromas and resin grass hops. TattooJack (518) - Illinois, USA - SEP 26, 2014
Poured from the bottle of a four pack into a pint glass. Pours a super non-see thru mystic orange which slowly turns almost white at the top and bottom. Its like an orange color palate. I was kinda blown back by the hops on the first chug but within 5 minutes i’d finished the first bottle. It’s hard to believe this beer is 9.7% except my ears are ringing after 2 of them. This is a winner all the way around!! DwarfeD (3540) - Amersfoort, NETHERLANDS - MAY 19, 2016
355ml bottle at home. Clear golden with a medium white soapy head. Medium to full body with moderate carbonation. Well balanced full flavoured bitter and sweet taste. Tropical fruits, citrus, grapefruit, caramel, malts, some alcohol and spices. Great brew. drinkbeer (283) - Redondo Beach, California, USA - JUL 1, 2004
Had this on tap at Najas Place in Redondo Beach. This ripped my fucking face off. I had to go home and drink a Bud Light because my palate was so fucked. I loved it!

UPDATED: AUG 8, 2007 Tasted on draft @ Mission Valley location. Floral hop aroma with strong hop bite. Very smooth with good balance of fruity, floral, and citrus present. riversideAK (6261) - Shoreline, Washington, USA - JAN 25, 2008
This confuses me because no one has rated this yet, but I am drinking a bottle of Left Coast Hop Juice. 9.6% ABV. Aroma of fresh grapefruit and orange juice. Hazy brownish orange. Thin head. Nice lacing. Hops, Hops, Hops! Some puckering bitterness comes through. Grapefruit, orange, tangerine, Light toasted malt. Some alcohol. Resiny. Chewy. Almost everything I look for in an IIPA. Not as good as Pliny, but damn good!
Re-rated after it warmed. Deducted 1 point overall because it is a little hot in terms of alcohol. desurfer (1302) - Melbourne, Florida, USA - MAY 7, 2008
Pours a bright orange with lively carbonation. Aroma is heavy on the citrus and is extremely hoppy. Flavor explodes with a massive amount of sticky, hoppy goodness and a good deal of alcohol. I’m not sure if this bottle is fresher than several of the recent reviews, but this is a hop monster that delivers on the promise its name implies. Great stuff. grant (842) - Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA - JUL 5, 2010
Clear dark yellow, wan frothy head. Wonderful hoppy aroma, seemingly some Columbus here. Very pungent and woody. Very balanced flavor, somewhat doughy and subdued on the malt side, with plenty of earthy, slowly building woody and piney hop notes. Softly malty, assertively bitter finish. Wonderfully put together. greenhorn1 (850) - Mission Viejo, California, USA - DEC 16, 2010
Bomber. This pours copper with a foamy thin head with huge lacing. Big ass aroma of citrus that stings the nose. Flavor is loaded with grapefruit, pine, and orange peel. Big bitter bite that lasts and a mild warming buzz in the gut. It is so good and so easy to drink. Excellent IIPA.
