Dark black in color, with a thin tan head. Super rich dark malt flavors. Nice hops backing this was a super Black IPA. oRos (1674) - sacramento, California, USA - DEC 12, 2013
On to at capitol beer and taptroom. Pours black with white head. Taste was roasted malts with big hop finish. Fantomasus (291) - Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - DEC 12, 2013
Interesting brew... Black IPAs are fairly new to me...
Pours a black cola with a nice foamy off white head. Looks great, nearly rated it a 5 for Appearance. Aroma is potent and pleasant: some coffee, some chocolate, caramel, cereal, grassy hops, and some dough. Taste is nice but way off balance towards bitter. Same with the finish that leaves a long linngering bitter burn. I like it. Would drink again. Would buy again. Concealer (1278) - Denver, Colorado, USA - NOV 30, 2013
Bomber. Pours a dark brown with a slight red tinge. Big foamy tan head. Smells of dark fruit, malt, smoke and chocolate. Flavor is roasted malt, light chocolate, caramel, light citrus, pine and cereal. Medium bodied, light cream mouth feel. kaser (6430) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - OCT 15, 2013
Black pour at home from 22oz bottle from blackwells. Barely any head. Chocolate and cocoa taste. Malts. Good balance and tasty

Light brown head, very black body. Aroma is roast malt and coffee. Taste is bitter, burnt toast, roasted malt. Very roasted flavor, dry bitter finish. Sammy (12995) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 31, 2013
An average black ipa, from craftshack. Thick black appearance. Roast more than hops. Pretty good drinkability, filling. Roast and hop aroma. I would have liked more hops. onceblind (10864) - Denver, Colorado, USA - AUG 11, 2013
Black pour with a foamy light beige head. Aroma is like herbal or pollen-y chocolate fudge cake with a wee bit of roast. Flavor starts with roastiness and black malt bitterness and follows with a light grassy hop kiss. Burnt chocolate notes as well. Has a little hop acidic ending but with a lot of black malt roasty burnt tones. Not a fan, Sledutah (7976) - Utah, USA - JUL 17, 2013
22oz bottle picked up at Wilburs SDalkoholic (2444) - Linda Vista, California, USA - JUN 25, 2013
Clear dark brown with a medium sized beige head and good lacing. Aroma of roasted malts, dark chocolate and pine. Flavor is roasty, milk chocolate, grapefruit and pine
Very good bipa, silky mouthfeel
Bottle from Whispering Willows Liquor: Poured with a thick topping of frothy head while the liquid was a dark brown that was completely opaque. As for the nose, a bold presence of fresh green hop greets my nose while also having a delicate scent of roast malt in the background. The flavor is rich with a squeeze of citrus fruit most notably grapefruit or an orange but the roasted malts come together well with in this recipe. I have to honestly say that this was the tastiest and most delicious Black IPA I’ve had to date. I’ve had some other good ones but they just can’t compare to this one.
