COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
"At left coast Brewing Co., we pride ourselves on our seasonal line up, with Una Mas amber being our one for the Spring. This dark copper lager(Ale in Texas) is light in body and bursting with flavor. Styled after the popular amber lagers south of the border, Una Mas is the perfect Spring brew. Small amounts of dark roasted malts add a rich color without making it thick or chewy. Munich malt adds a rich toasty finish to the brew. Una mas will leave you wanting more."

Bottle. Pours with a clear orange to amber body with a small and not very retentive off-white head. Slowly fades to a ring. Some lacing. Aromas of malty first, nutty (maybe even husky), bready, lightly toasted. Hazelnuts, a hint of salinity. Pretzels. Minimal hop notes. A hint of esters which seems out of place. Flavors are nutty, biscuity, and again a hint of salinity. Medium bitterness that rounds to an overall neutral balance. Hop flavors are very minimal. No esters on the flavor. Some crispness and a short duration. Medium to lively bubbles, a bit high in alcohol for what I am use to from a Vienna. Seems like the water is pretty high in bicarbonate (getting some bite on the sides of the tongue). Decently dry finish. No real flaws. Decent.

Ernest (7480) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - APR 21, 2013
Bottle. Head is initially small, frothy/fizzy, off-white, mostly diminishing. Body is light to medium amber. Aroma is moderately malty (toasted grain, husks, caramel), lightly hoppy (herbs), with notes of concrete and detergent. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter, husky. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation, lightly alcoholic. Quite industrial and grainy, which of course is accurate in terms of the beer its attempting to mimic, but why would you want to intentionally make a poorly-crafted beer?

355ml bottle. Minimally cloudy, dark amber colour with small, frothy to creamy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Mellow malty aroma with a toasty touch, hints of caramel. Taste is slightly sweet (cara-)malty, minimally toasty, cautious, unspecific fruitiness somewhere between peach and strawberry. Clean & fine.

BlackHaddock (6629) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - JUL 29, 2014
Large sample at the Clay Oven, Irvine CA on 14th July 2014 during an Indian food and beer tasting evening. Amber body, almost clear, thin white head. Light malty nose with a sweet hint. The taste is also on the sweet side initially with mild caramel and tropical fruitiness, Hops do calm the brew down and give some bitterness mid-sip but the semi-sweetness arrives again in the finish. Pleasant without getting me excited.
