At Left Coast Brewing Co. we pride ourselves on a unique batch of beer in the style of an American Stout. Voo Doo is a full bodied, dark brew that is rich and malty with plenty of roasted barley character. This hearty stout is layered with flavors of roasted barley, chocolate, and coffee coming from the highest quality imported malts. Its creamy long lasting head completes the brew, tempting your taste buds to be spellbound.

Pours black color with a small beige head. Strong vanilla aroma, wooden notes, dark roasted malts, some chocolate and faint coffee. Flavor is roasted malts, coffee bitterness, chocolate, cocoa and wooden dry finish.

Aroma has sweet cocoa tones, vanilla and licorice. Flavour has vanilla, coffee, cocoa and licorice. Somewhat simple but pleasantly balanced and easy to drink.

355ml bottle. Pours pitch black with a small head. Aroma of roasty malts, vanilla, cocoa, chocolate and hints of licorice. Taste is smooth, slightly roasty with some coffee, licorice and cocoa. Finish is roasty and earthy with some hints of licorice. Okay.

Nel bicchiere è quasi nera, mentre piuttosto modesta è la quantità di schiuma color beige che si forma: cremosa e compatta, ha una discreta persistenza. Caffè e tostature dominano l’aroma, la cui intensità é un po’ dimessa; in sottofondo accenni di tabacco e cioccolato amaro a completare uno scenario semplice ma pulito. Parte invece senza indugi il gusto, che dispensa da subito caffè e tostature in grande quantità; il mouthfeel è denso e oleoso, con un corpo medio e poche bollicine. Il gusto rispetta la semplicità dell’aroma, peccando un po’ di eleganza nella sua opulenza torrefatta; a sostenerla ci provano un tocco di caramello bruciato e qualche estero fruttato (prugna?) con una chiusura ben luppolata che riesce comunque a ripulire il palato. Retrogusto, in balia di caffè e tostature, con un lieve alcool warming a riscaldare la serata.

Clear dark brown color with a average to large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, chocolate, sweet chocolate. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet with a long duration, sweet chocolate, roasted, dark chocolate. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20161008]

tap/artefakt. color kay zbożowej, brązowa piana, utrzymująca się w postaci obrączki do końca picia. aromat palonych słodów, czekolada mleczna, kawa, ale niezbyt intensywna. w smaku pełne, gęste, oleiste, goryczka od palonych słodów wyraźna, niemal popiołowość na podniebieniu. ciekawe

Aromat: dominują akcenty charakterystyczne dla stoutów - palność, czekolada, kawa, melano i trochę alkoholu. Chmiel wyraźnie w zaniku.

Wygląd: barwa czarna, nieprzejrzysta z beżową, drobno pęcherzykową pianą. Jest ona umiarkowanej wielkości i podobnie trwała.

Smak: słodycz, z lekką nutą kwaskową, szybko skontrowana palonością, gorzką czekoladą czy kawą. Alkohol także obecny, natomiast brak nut chmielowych. Ogólnie raczej pusto w smaku. Goryczka średnia plus, wytrawna, palona, trochę nieprzyjemna. Średnia do krągłej pełnia, umiarkowane do wysokiego wysycenie i palony finisz z akcentem alkoholowym. Bez szału.
