A prospect is a rising talent whose skills are too great to ignore. They are a natural team player, chosen for their distinctive abilities. The same can be true of a standout hop amongst a beer’s roster of ingredients. Cloudy and very fresh grassy citrusy zesty scent. Big burst of nice citra bitterness, good mouthfeel, fairly carbonated and light, refreshing, tasty.

Bottle in Brew Box. Cloudy light yellow colour with white head. Nice lacing. Nice fruity aroma, very citrusy and tropical. Citrusy flavours, some tropical fruit, lingering sweetish lemon flavour, mild bitterness on the finish. Nicely balanced IPA.

Bottle from brewery. Bottled Dec 5th. Pours sunflower yellow with a gentle cap of foam on top. Big Citra hop goodness on the nose. Clean & angular ipa that highlights the shiny elements of the hop. Tropical fruit with a slight bitter backbone. If you wait for it you’ll get vague cat piss in the finish (why I love cat pissy IPAs is beyond me but I really do). Really good.

Pale golden pour with a slight haze. The nose is fresh and juicy with some clean pale malt. A little bit of light resin but it’s pretty tropical. Fresh and fruity with a clean bitterness.

Draught @ barVolo, Toronto. Hazy amber, small white head. Bit chalky. Route 1 hop hammer. Simple yet effective.

Tamed citra nose. The taste and the aroma evoke lemonade memories. Good drinkable IPA. Fresh bottle from the brewery.

Spab (4003) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 8, 2015
750 ml bottle from brewery. Pours a modestly cloudy golden orange with small white head. Aroma is fresh citrusy and piney hops with some cat pee character and a little sweet grainy malt. Flavour is also modestly catty with citric/piney hops and some sweet grains. Moderate bitterness in finish. Nice.

Bottle from the brewery. Slightly hazy straw gold with a small and persistent cap of white head. Pungent and punchy aroma of Citra hops - bright citrus, oily herbal note, a touch of cat pee. Medium bodied with nice clean mouthfeel. Big, bitter orange peel is the dominant flavour, with some honeyish malt providing a modicum of balance. A bit one-dimensional perhaps, but it’s also super fresh and refreshing, so I can’t complain too much.
