Black pour served with a toasted marshmallow. Smells like marshmallow and dark roasted coffee beans. Taste is not too sweet, lots of coca nibs, coffee for sure, medium body, roasty good for the weather.

UPDATED: JUL 28, 2017 The beer smells fantastic. Definitely get tones of marshmallow. The taste, however, is more vanilla than marshmallow.

Bottle in Brew Box. Pitch black with big tan head that took a while to dissipate. Strong aromas of sweet chocolate, coffee, toasted marshmallows. Same flavours, with big toastiness. Very moist mouthfeel.

[8128-20160401] 650mL bottle. Roasted burnt nut and charred woody aroma. Black brown body with a medium-lasting foamy off-white head. Smoked woody charred malt flavour has a sweet light roasted toffee base. Full body. Interesting. (7/3/8/3/13) 3.4

2016-04-01. Black body, with a creamy tan head that fades. 3++ Aroma of mocha, light coffee and cocoa. Flavour is quite dry, with lots of bitter coffee roast. Sweetish base gets lost in the roast a bit for me and there is not much marshmallow character as a result. Maybe a little more as it warms up. Average plus bodied palate, good carbonation. Decent but not really to my tastes. 7/3/6/3/14 Bottle shared by GregClow.

[Bottle (650ml) shared with GregClow, jercraigs & mabel -- c/o GregClow] Pours a very dark brown with a small lasting frothy light-brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, some chocolate, lactic notes and a hint of eggshells. Flavour of roasted malt, lots of coffee, pepper, a bit of vanilla and some lactose. Average to medium bodied. Pretty good.

Bouteille 660ml, gracieuseté de msjpearson, Thanks Mike! Couleur noire opaque, mousse moka laissant une fine dentelle. Arôme de chocolat, malt torréfié, soupçon de vanille, café, léger côté fumé. Goût de malt torréfié, vanille, sucré, café. Carbonatation moyenne-élevée, corps moyen-faible.

Well balanced milk stout, coffee taste range, with sweet sugar, mocha, and some bitter. Oily smooth. Juicy mouthfeel.

650 ml bottle from brewery. Pours a very dark brown with solid khaki coloured head. Aroma is nice combination of sweetness and roast with dark and milk chocolate, coffee and a little lactic sourness. Flavour has assertive roastiness but balanced with some sweetness, notes of cocoa, milk chocolate, dark coffee, lactose and some graininess. Fine carbonation. Quite nice.

Bottle from brewery. Pours dark & sinister with a lush cap of foam. Wow, this is a high water mark for left field’s darker beers. Beautiful deep coffee notes, hints of chocolate. Sweet baby Jesus, this is a smooth stout (the lactose evident), smoother than cheesy blue eyed soul from the 70’s. Finely crafted, with restraint & balance. Highly recommend getting one of these before they are gone.
