On draft @ Sunset Grill and Tap. Nose of a fresh bag of Italian roast coffee. The coffee dominates the flavor with a lot of roasted malts. If you are a coffee lover , you are going to enjoy this. Hand pull @ Sugar Maple in Milwaukee. The beer is a black body with a really creamy tan head. The aroma and flavors are dominated by a smooth coffee. Coffee, some chocolate malts, deep roasted malts. On tap at Hops and Pies poured a clear dark brown nmearly black with a lasting tan head. Aromas of coffee, bitter chocolate, roasted malt and earthiness. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of coffee, roastiness and bitter chocolate with a smooth lingering coffee finish.

You’d better love coffee if you’re going to drink this because at is all you are going to taste - at first, I was all about this, but as the beer warmed, some of the undesirably characteristics of the coffee became too strong, such as the acidity and deep roast, that eventually started to taste like char - there is no nuance to how the coffee is used here, so while I still sort of like it, it is ultimately a weak attempt. cubs (10740) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - APR 15, 2011
On tap @ Falling Rock. Fairly dark brown/black appearance with a tan head. Bitter coffee grounds, dark malty aroma. Bitter, roasty, coffee ground flavor on a dark malty body. Bitter coffee finish. draft at falling rock. Pours black with nice creamy brown head. Aroma is pure coffee, freshly ground coffee beans, bold, robust, and good smelling. Flavor is all roast and coffee but not in a bitter sense, with a chocolate sweetness. Very smooth, creamy, silky body. Really quite nice.
