Poured from a bottle nearly black. This beer had a nice balance with roasted malt flavor upfront and a a finish of bitter hops. Also was able to detect some sweet fruit in the taste. A very smooth, lighter bodied porter. troyc (2869) - Illinois, USA - AUG 22, 2007
(Bottle) Pours a dark brown color with a beige head. Sweet caramelized aroma, with some coffee in there as well. Full, roasted coffee and toffee notes in the flavor. Fainter nut and chocolate notes linger into the aftertaste. DaMenace123 (253) - Houston, Texas, USA - AUG 21, 2007
Bottle. Typical dark thick pour. Typical roasted malt flavor. Pretty good porter. Glazed9884 (207) - USA - AUG 16, 2007
Good brew, very dark color, thin head that i keeps, fairly tight but some big bubbles. Very nice lacing. Nice roasted malt odor, semi sweet. Coffeeish taste, distinct coffee aftertaste. Nice carbonation level and the roasted malts are obviously a major presence. Reminded me of burnt chocolate milk. Great cold weather brew. afterglow (1047) - Florida, USA - AUG 11, 2007
Bottle. Pours a clear dark brown with ruby highlights and a two finger tan head that lasts leaving good lacing. Aroma of fresh malt, roasted malt, caramel, and a touch of smoke. Taste is fresh malt, roasted malt, light caramel, and lightly smokey. Medium full mouthfeel with a well balanced amount of bitterness. Very Good.

Bottle from BierKoning. Dark brown hue with tan head. Oaky, walnut flavour. A strong porter. Chocolate taste, milk to darker. Sweet and spicy. Really nice. smartbrewing (11) - Amelia, Ohio, USA - AUG 7, 2007
Smells like a porter...looks like a porter...taste more smokey than chocolatey...has a rougher texture than a typical porter...an average but palatable beer. I think this beer could almost pass as a smoke beer if I didn’t know it was already was a porter. Not a clean finish as described above...the aftertaste liiiiiiiiingers. This was a very good porter, however very similar to the milk stout. Has a darker chocolate flavor though. PattyBoy (302) - North Liberty, Iowa, USA - AUG 2, 2007
Poured deep brown, almost black, tan head. Aroma had some cola. Flavor was roasts, chocolate, raisins. Right amount of hops, finishes dry. Good. Soonah (1120) - Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA - AUG 1, 2007
Pour was the expected dark brown with some ruby highlights struggling to get through. The head was tan and one-finger tall. Some persistence to the head although it didn’t offer up any lacing. The aroma was fairly muted. Some roasted malt and sugary sweetness came through. The flavor was much better than expected. Roasted malt, chocolate, smoke and possibly some floral hops right there at the finish. A nice example of the style.
