COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A traditional London style beer, our Black Jack Porter highlights chocolate malt and Kent Goldings hops. Its slight initial sweetness quickly yields to the distinctive roastiness of the chocolate malt. The Kent Goldings hops perfectly balance the malt, making it very smooth, with a surprisingly clean finish.

A thin, flavorless porter. Very little aroma at all; just a hint of roasted grains. Flavor has more roast but overall this is very light in every way, including the light brown color.

This porter pours a murky black color with a frothy, light brown head. Fair lacing follows a mostly diminishing head. Aroma is of heavy burnt malts. Initial taste is lightly sweet, with a burst of moderate sweetness at the finish with a long duration. Medium body on the mouth, it has a nice creamy finish. Reviewed on July 13th, 2006.

Pours a deep reddish hue with brown highlights. Smells of cocoa powder which transitions nicely to a creamy coffe aroma. A deeply roasted malty smell complements the sweetness of the nose. The flavor begins with sweet chocolaty flavors. This gives way to roasted coffee and nuts. A good hop profile at the finish balances this brew out. Medium bodied but too thin on the palate for the style. The palate falls short of supporting the sweetness. Overall the flavors are pleasantly sweet and balanced well with the hop bitterness. Could use some more girth on the palate but still a decent porter with good drinkability.

Draft at the brewery. .. Roasty aroma, sweet hints . .. . Rich brown, tall tan head, clear - ruby hints. .. Malty up front, roasty. Thin aftertaste. .. Medium Lt body, light carbonation. Good porter, straightforward. Not super-duper, but tasty. ..
