COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
2013 & 2010 Gold Medal Winner at the Great American Beer Festival in the Foreign Stout category.

That time of year when the day seems to fade away. Drifting further into the darkness with each passing day. Volume 1 - Foreign Stout - Pours black with licorice, espresso bean, molasses, and black cardamom notes that give way to a feeling of self loathing, burnt opportunities and smoked relationships.

330ml can. Licorice and dark roast coffee aroma. Black in colour with a mid-sized frothy brown head. Rich licorice, dark chocolate, black coffee and treacle flavours. Medium body with a slick texture. Sweet finish with some alcohol warming.

Deep brown, milky coffee foam, lasting head. Pleasant coffee nose. Medium to full body, dense flavor, silky texture, fine mousse, moderate carbonation and heat, lively mouthfeel, lingering aftertaste. Bitter but well balanced, tangy. Concentrated coffee flavor, expresso, chocolate, molasses, burnt sugar. Quite delicious. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

UPDATED: FEB 19, 2018 Aroma is like a Ricola herbal drop. Taste is super bitter, burnt wood, cardamom, anise, coffee, and earth. Mouth is overly thick and bitter. Can

Slightly over-roasted coffee, toasted nuts and dark chocolate unleashed from the pouring can. Beautiful in my glass. Sweet bitter taste has just a quick glance at sourness, then back to sweet. Very nice and totally drinkable on a cold February night.

Had from can, poured into pint glass. Pours pitch black with no head. Some lacing on the glass as you drink it down. Drinkable but definitely notice the ABV. Definitely has the molasses notes and smokey finish. Would drink again ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

UPDATED: FEB 11, 2018 Tap, ADT. Nearly black pour with a medium tan head. Chewy chocolate and coffee flavors with dark roasted malt and wood. Full body. The elevated alcohol isn't noticeable. Long dark, chocolatey, bitter coffee finish. Excellent.

Tap at BeerTemple. Almost black with dark beige head. Licorice, light coffee, toffee, dry earthy leaves, soft mineral notes, burnt sugar. Over medium sweet and bitter. Over medium bodied too with initially sweet finish but later some dryness. Solid and true to what it’s supposed to be.
