12oz bottle. Pours a small head, opaque and black color. Aroma is strong, complex, and appetizing. Really good taste, a great example of the style. Mouthfeel is just a little fizzy for me, but fine otherwise. Pretty bitter, hoppy, and toasty, strong/alcoholic, I’m surprised it’s only 6.5%. berrya785 (441) - Kansas, USA - FEB 8, 2013
Pours an opaque black with a small tan head and nice lacing. Aroma is piney with some maltiness. Taste is piney hops and roasted malt. Very good black IPA. JStax (6462) - Devola/Marietta, Ohio, USA - FEB 6, 2013
Poured from a 12 ounce bottle. Pours a near black with a beige head of foam. Aroma is pine, citrus, resins, roast. Taste is bitter and malty with a dry, piny, resinous finish. Decent black IPA. queenholly (3623) - South Whitley, Indiana, USA - FEB 5, 2013
Bottle. Chocolate malt and piney hops aroma. Black with a large brown head. Sweet coffee/mocha malt , citrus peel, and earthy resinous piney hops flavor. Medium body, soft carbonation. I really like black IPAs, but this one is a bit unbalanced, and could stand to be a little more malt forward. ebone1988 (1917) - Dearborn, Michigan, USA - FEB 3, 2013
Aroma is hoppy, grapefruit and pine, and malt. Appearance is very black, light brown one finger head. Taste is hoppy, and like fruit loops. Mouthfeel is thick, nice. Overall, pretty good.

Single bottle, Total Wine. Pours dark brown with a small offwhite head that dissipates quickly and leave a single ring of lacing. A lot of floral and citrus notes in the aroma along with some sweet malt. Malt and coffee flavor with some piney hops. Fairly bitter finish. Medium body, maaaaybe a little on the thin side. Solid beer. pumpmaster (1393) - Pembroke Pines, Florida, USA - JAN 31, 2013
12 ounce bottle purchased at Total Wine Pembroke Pines, FL for $3.99/6-pack. Very good. glennmastrange (2867) - hobe sound, Florida, USA - JAN 27, 2013
Tap. Heavy malt aromas of toasted, dark chocolate and dark bread, light to moderate hops and yeast notes of resin and earth, with hints of wood and black pepper. Head is large, creamy, light tan with good lacing and is fully diminishing. Color is almost black. Flavor starts lightly sweet and lightly to moderately acidic, then finishes lightly acidic and moderately to heavily bitter. Palate is medium, slick, with a lively carbonation and a dry finish. Very well done Black IPA, mellower than most others. ccex (1312) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JAN 24, 2013
12 oz bottle pours a dark cola brown, and opaque black when settled underneath a big beige head with only a little lacing. Aroma is full of roasted malts with some citrus and floral hops. Taste is slightly bitter with some nuts in the finish. Medium body, and easily drinkable without too much carbonation. I expect black IPAs to be hoppier than this, but this one was quite enjoyable anyway, and a bit different. Lubiere (13898) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 22, 2013
