Big zesty nose of lupalin hops and citrus. Pours a dark orange, almost brown, under a big tan head. Taste furthers the big smack of hop aroma, and I’m comparing this to the dried flower hops I just stuffed in a few jars for safe keeping yesterday. Very citrusy, what with the added orange peel. I think we can compare it to a Tyranena Scurvy. Very sticky malts, but not overly sweet. After a month in my fridge, it’s still a powerfully hoppy but enjoyable IPA. Those buying it to support the charity may find themselves somewhat gobsmacked. Ibrew2or3 (8860) - Tempe, Arizona, USA - OCT 26, 2013
22oz bomber pours with a crystal clear copper body that has thin gold edges and supports a nice looking semi fluffy light tan head of foam. The aroma offers up a mix of sweet malts, some spicy wood and a bit of citrus hops. The taste begins with spicy wood blending into some pine and citrus hops that swirl around a thin stream of sweet maltiness. This has a pleasing degree of assertive hoppiness where there’s plenty of balance and depth with firm hop bitterness and mild malt sweetened hop flavor. Nice. This is right at the top for me in this Homefront series. mixmasterob (1060) - Atlanta, Georgia, USA - AUG 19, 2013
Clear amber pour with a fluffy white head. Aroma had heavy notes of caramel, vanilla, earthy hops, somewhat vegetal and herbal. Flavors were mostly woody, sweet caramel, earthy bitter hops with a slight citrusy fruit character. Perfect carbonation, medium bodied. Almost nutty in the finish with a nice well rounded wood character. This grew on me as I got through it. Nice. Drake (14108) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - SEP 5, 2013
Bomber from Beer Run. I didn’t even realize this is a fundraiser project, so I’m glad to learn it is and that a relatively local brewery (Center of the Universe) participated. Pours a clear amber color with a large foamy tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of strong citrus notes, pale malts and mild wood. The taste is raw wood notes, pale malts, caramel, herbal, resin hops. Medium bodied, well balanced, lingering bitterness. Nice beer. DrSilverworm (9672) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JUN 2, 2015
22oz bottle, from Dutch’s. Nice biscuity malt, kind of toasty. Good citrusy hop, mildly peppery. Bottle says "Ale brewed with dried sweet orange peel", but I don’t really pick up on much of that addition -- maybe just a touch of it in the finish. The bottle says nothing of any kind of wood aging either. Maybe this beer is a bit different this year. It does have a satisfying amount of hop, though, especially for the low ABV. It’s just drinking like a very satisfying, balanced, yet well-hopped IPA, at the moment. Medium to bigger body. Smooth, kind of soft, lighter carbonation. Nice full feel. Mild slickness. Clear orange color. Thin off-white head. Leaves good thicker reaches and rows of lace. Looks great. Moderate-plus bitter taste, light to moderate sweet. Very tasty, satisfying balanced IPA. Especially nice to swig down with my sandwich.

Pours clear amber with a fluffy and rather persistent pale buff head. Hoppy aroma has definite orange and malty notes plus a woody undertone. Flavor is very hoppy and woody, with orange and malt in the background. Firm body and strong fizz make for a good mouthfeel, while finish is woody and hoppy and just a little bitter. Bomber, best by 09/09/14, very cool idea. Nose is heavy orange, zest and rind, with heavy grapefruit and light tropical leanings, lightly dank, some paper and scratchier resins. Weak caramel malt anticipated, but juicy hops. Pours deep but clear orange-red with a dense and creamy beige head. Taste is strongly bitter but not excessive, semi-dry (which is to say semi-sweet) with all of the he above flavors and some doughier edges. Good wood and medium spice from the hops, clean yeast and a touch of soapy cleansing, very fresh and citric with only an average malt background. No alcohol showing, but the mouthfeel is very heavy and wears a bit, medium body otherwise bright, fresh, and clean. Really punches through! rumproasts (6052) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - NOV 2, 2013
bottle. Golden with two finger head. Seemed at first to be a pretty standard (but above average) IPA. As it warmed, I caught more of the woodiness, which while subtle, adds some depth. The spicing improved as it warmed a bit too.
