I was pumped to try this one. Pours a dark, dark amber. Not quite as dark as many of the stouts I’ve had. Quickly diminishing dark tan head. Aroma is chocolate and molasses. Nice creamy texture with chocolate milk and slight roasted malts. NIce sweet finish of chocolate and malts. This was a great beer. boFNjackson (4201) - Portland, Oregon, USA - MAY 3, 2009
Bottle @ The Druid... Poured almost black with amber highlights and a tiny, off-white head. Smoked malts and a little bit of mocha on the nose. Thick, fizzy, well carbonated palate. Flavors were very creamy with sweet malts and lots of roasted coffee bean notes. Not much bitterness and was very smooth and clean. tokyogoat (1503) - San Diego, California, USA - MAY 3, 2009
Poured from a 12oz bottle into a snifter.
Pours a deep brown with a cola like head.
Smells of light chocolate
taste is pretty plain, chocolate, light roasted grain, lactose
mouthfeel is ok, a little silky, not very creamy.
I could throw down a bunch of these. Not because they taste great, but there is nothing offensive at all about his. noompa (130) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAY 2, 2009
On tap at Reggie’s. Promised a lot, but didn’t see things through to the end, as enigmatic as that sounds.
Ar: Raisins, chocolate, liquorish and possibly a bit of mango? Ap: Creamy white head, pours a dark brown and decent head retention w/ pretty gravel lacing. Fl: Raisins, chocolate milk, molasses and the most evanescent hoppiness that peeks through without remaining pinned down. Tasty beer that lacked the oomph of FFF’s Moloko. jb43 (1650) - Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA - MAY 1, 2009
(bottle). Pours a black color. Small tan head. Malt and molasses aroma. Strong malt taste (slightly burnt) with light creaminess. Smooth finish with slight bitterness. Soft carbonation.

12 oz bottle purchased at Corral Liquors, Granite City,Il.
Pours mahogany with a 1/4 inch beige head.
Minimal aroma of coffee/chocolate.
More flavor than I would have thought with the mild aroma.
It feel a little thin and a bit more carbonated than I would like. Beardface (1517) - Eugene, Oregon, USA - APR 29, 2009
12 oz bottle from By the Bottle in Vancouver, WA. Pours the shade of coffee with a moderate tan head and some solid lacing. Mostly chocolate in the nose, with light bits of coffee and a slight nuttiness. Taste is all chocolate creaminess with a hint of coffee. One of the smoothest finishes I’ve ever experienced. beerguy101 (5360) - Newark, California, USA - APR 28, 2009
Sampled on 4/27/2009. This sweet stout pours a eclipse black color from a 12oz bottle. Small sized beige foamy head with a decent lacing but little to no retention. The aroma is chocolate and coffee and a touch sweet. A light to medium bodied sweet stout. The malts are roasted/burnt malts, chocolate and coffee. The hops are earthy and herbal. There is a lot of coffee bitterness without a lot of sweetness to balance it out in this beer. It seems a little thin and watery as well. Nice carbonation. This one just doesn’t do much for me. Mouthfeel is a touch thin. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet. Puntas13 (1) - USA - APR 26, 2009 does not count
