Bottle. Black colour with a nice tan head. The aroma is sweet, roasted malt with some chocolate. Sweet, roasted flavour with notes of cocoa and coffee. Medium-bodied, long roasted aftertaste and quite smooth mouthfeel. Very tasty stout. imdownthepub (15331) - Banbury, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - FEB 2, 2009
Bottled, 355ml from Bellingers Garage, Grove, Oxon. Near black with little head. Drank pretty soon after the Bete Noire and it didn’t stand up against it at all. Sweet sticky stout with a molasses note, but not in a great way. Some chocolate, but really dead, dull flavours. I really cannot comprehend the high ratings. Poor stuff. iride15 (238) - Rockledge, Florida, Florida, USA - FEB 1, 2009
Black/brown pour, thick tan head. Cocoa aroma. Flavor obviously milky - milk chocolate and coffee. Real creamy aftertaste. garthicus (2945) - Dublin, IRELAND - FEB 1, 2009
Appearance: Pitch black, poured rather thinly. Thick creamy head. Aroma: Light turf, nutmeg and slight lactic notes. Flavour: Milky, peat and coffee with a creamy finish. revans (47) - Salem, Ohio, USA - JAN 31, 2009
Smells like chocolate cake batter. Pours well with a decent head. The flavor reminds me of Whoppers candy. Good mouthfeel, nice and thick. This is my favorite milk stout that I’ve found so far.

Dark brown in color with a decent sized tan head. Aroma is of cocoa, and milk chocolate. Taste is of chocolate, raosted malts and lactose. Sparky (2244) - Phoenix, Arizona, USA - JAN 26, 2009
Bottle. Pours a clear dark brown/black with a 2 finger tan head that leaves decent lacing. The nose is light lactose, roasted malt and ashy cocoa. Taste is cream, earthy hops, burnt chocolate and roasted malt with a bitter coffee finish. Creamy mouth feel. Not bad. webbcreative (111) - , Oklahoma, USA - JAN 25, 2009
Black, with just a hit of reddish color on the edges when held up to the light. 3 finger head. Smells really good, has a coffee smell. Taste has that coffee come through more, and chocolate, there are hops, but they balance this brew out perfectly! This is one mighty fine brew! One of the smoothest beers I have had! Great beer...
