COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This English style of beer, also known as Sweet Stout or Cream Stout, first appeared in London in the late 1800’s. The early brewers touted the health benefits of the milk sugar in this beer which today relates mainly to the increased amount of calories(no real health benefits…sorry). The milk sugar adds a well rounded sweetness to this dark beer and makes it an outstanding, year ‘round stout.

UPDATED: JAN 14, 2016 Bottle. Black color. Sweet, bright, forward effervescent aroma. Above average carbonation. Sweet coffee and caramel flavors. Delightful, very smooth. A great beer! Far better than the Nitro draft version of this beer, which scores 33% lower in every criterion, including the overall rating. Nitro draft version: Black color. Muted hop aroma. Very fine bubbles, frothy head. Sweet, hoppy flavor. Relatively simple flavors for a stout. Slightly bitter finish.

Definitely overrated for me. Tastes pretty much like guinness, which i don’t necessarily dislike. I guess i was just expecting more. It’s smooth, but certainly lacks creaminess or anything spectacular. It’s an easy drinking beer, but for the money i wouldn’t buy it again

(Nitro Version) It's got a nice roasty aroma, and it has got a beautiful appearance. But it's a bit lacking in flavors, simple, but a decent enough mouthfeel. I'll drink this occasionally, but I'm more excited about other beers.

#nitro version. This is an extraordinary milk stout with nearly no spice to its aroma but pours with a perfect head. On the palette is it very creamy and smooth and the taste is refined and very enjoyable. 12oz bottle poured into a stout glass and I will enjoy this on numerous occasions.

6/10/15 complex taste. more than mildly carbonated which you can really feel on your tongue. Medium body but the finish is Lightbodyed. It might be better closer to room temperature. Worth trying a six-pack. 4/29/16. An awesome and subtle brew. Comparing it to the Great Lakes blackout Imperial Stout and much prefer this one 5/11/16 nicely balanced. Carmel sweetness. Dark roasted coffee notes. But I can't agree with my previous assessment on carbonation. if anything this is a low carbonation beer. All in all: A good go to beer ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Nitro Can. Ar: Clean roast; ashy and dry; steely herbal hops. Ap: Black and opaque; medium-large tan head; picture-perfect nitro consistency, like a mousse. T: Strong bitter-sweet cocoa; lush, milky malt alternates with cocoa; woodsy hop flavor, with a medium-high bitterness; coffee and spice--black pepper and cinnamon--linger in the finish; medium-low sweetness. P: Medium body with nitro consistency; a coating sensation; finish is dry. O: Interesting combination of a bold stout with nitrogen smoothness; firm roast and malt backbone; very colorful and complex on the palate; I like it!

Tan head and good retention. Smells of malts and chocolate, with a similar sweet taste. Full body, creamy texture with a long finish that coats your mouth a bit. Overall, a good beer

Wow! Schönes dichtes Aroma und trotzdem süffig. Toll!
