COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This English style of beer, also known as Sweet Stout or Cream Stout, first appeared in London in the late 1800’s. The early brewers touted the health benefits of the milk sugar in this beer which today relates mainly to the increased amount of calories(no real health benefits…sorry). The milk sugar adds a well rounded sweetness to this dark beer and makes it an outstanding, year ‘round stout.

Have you ever wondered what a beer chocolate milkshake would taste like? The first sip and "Beer Milkshake" was what came to mind. Even if you don’t drink stouts, this one is something to try. Quite good, and very different. Even folks that "don’t like beer" have been found to go for it.

On tap at Hops Northwest in New Westminster. An almost black beer with a ton of nitro head. Somewhat sweet. The lactose and nitrogen make this incredibly smooth. Tons of roasted malt flavors with hints of cocoa, coffee, and fruit. Nice. 3.8

From tap, Nitro. Nearly black with a creamy, cappuccino head. Toasty aromas, cocoa flavors, smooth palate, lingering finish.

Lactose in beer...blah. SUper biased review coming up. Pour is nice; jet black, tan head, creamy and smooth. Nice aroma, roasted, chocolate, light nuttiness. A bit sweet up front with a nice cocoa and espresso note. There is a slight bitterness, heavy sweetness and a nice creamy smoothness. Overall, the sweetness is a downfall.

My favorite stout. Good as a float with ice cream. It's even better on draft or on nitro but the bottles come pretty close to the same awesomeness. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours jet black with light tan head. Scent of milk chocolate and malts. Taste is sweet creamy chocolate, roast malts, and cappuccino. Body is medium and smooth. A fine milk stout.

America’s great milk stout will change with aroma of sugar and vanilla with a hint of roated coffee... taste of roast bitterness and mocha flavor. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

One of the best. Always grab one when making a six pack. Perfect for the sunset and relaxing in a hammock. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Nitro. I thought I already rated this. Pours a smooth black with a thin, creamy, light tan head that never seems to fade. It begins without head, and then forms as the beer settles. The aroma has chocolate, coffee, and roasted malt. Its simple, but it works. The only drawback is that it could be more robust. The taste is sweet. While this amount of sweetness is usually a negative for me, in this case it seems to enhance everything. Chocolate, coffee, licorice, roasted malts, raisin, and hints of caramel. Light to medium in body, with a perfect creamy texture, and flat carbonation. This one is a classic.
