COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This English style of beer, also known as Sweet Stout or Cream Stout, first appeared in London in the late 1800s. The early brewers touted the health benefits of the milk sugar in this beer which today relates mainly to the increased amount of calories(no real health benefitssorry). The milk sugar adds a well rounded sweetness to this dark beer and makes it an outstanding, year round stout.

A creamy texture, with balanced notes of sweet dark chocolate, bitter coffee and roasted caramel malts above and enticing hop backbone. Meduim-bodied and less filling than more commercial stouts like Guiness, and at 30% higher abv.

Can from Torridon Convenience Stores, Catford. Black pour with a tan head. Licorice, coffee and vanilla aroma. Licorice, milky coffee and chocolate flavour. Smooth. Quite nice.

Nitro Version. Pours beautifully, with fantastic cascade of brown foamy liquid that carbonation is pushing up like a grains of sand. Beer is very dark, extremely creamy, like a nice milkshake, foam not disappears even after 10 minutes from pouring. Aroma is milky, but also roasted malt is there, some chocolate, sour coffee, pralines, toffee. Taste is super smooth, roasted malts well balanced with lactose cream, and stoutish acidity. Overall this is a superb example of Nitro Milk Stout, tasty stuff.

Nitro Version: Poured in pint glass, very similar in apperance to Guinness Draught (can). Ruby red color with creamy head. Scent: cocoa, coffee and lactic acid. Very smooth and sweet on the palate. Both version of this beer should have separate ratings though since the nitrogen does affect the beers properties.

Dark black, but not jet black. Reasonable head with good lacing. Aroma of milk, coffee, cream, caramel and cocoa beans. Taste is similar with some honey and sour cream in the mix, quite sweet with little bitterness. Good beer, but there are better milk stouts out there. Price Paid: 2.29 - 330ml bottle.

Bottle from beerhawk. Absolutely gorgeous milk stout, tastes honestly so smooth as if drinking milk completely. Dark chocolate, alcoholic tobacco. Just fabulous.

0,33l Bottle, Nitro label. Hard pour as recommended. Pours withs a fat black color and a very fine, muddy brown head. This time I used Stout-Glassware from Spiegelau the first time and on my opinion does the head preserve much longer and re-builds with each dram/mouthfull. Worth to try! The nose is milky coffee, dark chocolate, lighty cocoa and vanilla. Taste of milky-chocolate-coffee with vanilla. Very creamy and intense at only 6% vol. Very nice bodied Stout. Normaly Stout arent my favorite beers.

Bottle on nitro pours a standard stout with a one finger beige head and no lacing. Aroma is sweet mocha. Flavor is very delicious light coffee, milk, caramel. Aftertaste is simply wonderful. This is one damn good stout!
