COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer is available each autumn in celebration of the great Bavarian festival season. Brewed in late spring and cellared throughout the summer, our Oktoberfest is produced through traditional methods as it has been for centuries in Germany, This copper-hued lager owes its rich malt flavor to a generous combination of select Vienna and Munich malts. Cool, open-fermentation develops a subtle elegance and drinkability suited to any festive occasion.

Thanks to Robert’s Reality for this. The pour was deep copper, with a 1 to 2-finger head. Caramel malt and some fruit was present in the aroma, with the flavor being caramel malt, some slight fruit, and some cabernet flavor in the finish.

355 ml bottle from Systembolaget, thanks to delft! BB 150709. On September 19, 2008. Clear copper color, tan head. Sweet caramelly scent, a bit sugary. Sweet, malty, fruity, sugary taste. Smooth mouthfeel, lot to medium bitterness. A bit perfumy

Bottle @ home. Dark amber appearance with an off white head. Toasty caramel malty, slightly nutty, toffee, lightly grassy-floral hoppy nose. Grassy, caramel, toffee malty lager flavor with some floral notes. A little too sweet and unbalanced for my taste.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a clear amber color with a small white head. The aroma has toasted malts with mild sweetness and some ripe fruit character. The flavor has toasted malts, caramel notes with some moderately sweet ripe fruits. This comes off as being a bit watered down. Decent, but there are better Octoberfests available.

12 oz. bottle shared at The Royale, but I believe he got it at Wine and Cheese Place. Hell of a label; I’m liking the new artwork for Left Hand. Pours a clear copper color with a small bone white head. Aroma is almost reminiscent of a lighter mead, with honey, caramel malts, and ripe red apples. The flavor shows all of these, along with some nutmeg and Vienna and Munich malts. Medium-bodied, with a sticky mouthfeel and low carbonation. Sweet and smooth. This is a great take on the style, and way underrated.

Has a deep amber color that’s totally Oktoberfest. Has a firm malty smell with a surprise hint of chocolate in he nose, balanced against a touch of flowery hop aroma. Tastes of some bitter caramel and honey. Great malty backbone with a hoppy bite at the end, crisp finishing. If it had some cinnamon I would score it higher, but as it is I think it’s a fine brew worth buying an annual 6-pack.

sebletitje (10282) - Enghien, BELGIUM - NOV 1, 2010
