Sane or senseless? Harmless or harmful? Sometimes it takes awhile to get to know a stranger. Initial impressions are not always reality, so you must delve deeper. Beyond the initial floral hop aromas, malt sweetness is revealed, yet with a spicy undertone that exposes a very rye sense of humor. Take your time to get to know the Stranger. It’s strangely satisfying.

polomagnifico (1202) - Saginaw, Michigan, USA - MAR 23, 2012
Bottle. Aroma has notes of citrus hops and caramel toasted malts. Medium amber hue with an average white head that mostly diminished and left good lace. Flavor is medium sweet and bitter. Palate is medium bodied with average carbonation. I didn’t really detect too much rye but there is a little spiciness on the finish. Overall an average Pale Ale that one could session.

Hazy golden coloured body with a very thin white head. Aroma of fresh grassy and slightly grapefruity hops with some malt and a touch of fruity sweetness. Light-bodied; Odd grassy flavour at first then shows a lot of malt bitterness, some watery hops and a little bit of earthing funk at the end. Aftertaste has no body at all, only a little flavour and a hint of bitterness. Overall, not such a great beer - the flavour depth doesn’t exist and the complexity shows more like a pale lager. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Giant Food in Falls Church (Bailey’s Crossroads), Virginia on 08-February-2012 for US$9.99/6pack sampled at home in Washington on 14-March-2012.

Mild floral citrus aroma. A mild hazy yellow with a touch of amber.Citrus and bitter taste that finishes off clean and dry. Has a pepper rye feeling in the middle. Hint of malt sweetness. A little different than is typical for this style.

3/10/12. From the tap at their tasting room. Pours yellowish/ orange with a lingering, frothy head. Aroma is light malt & rather weak. Taste is light malt, mildly hoppy citrus as well as rye. There is an after taste of malt. Average brew, but nothing outstanding.

3.3
glennmastrange (2867) - hobe sound, Florida, USA - MAR 8, 2012
Bottle. Moderate malt notes of light bread, grain and roasted, spruce and orange for the hops, light soap for the yeast with faint hints of wood, pepper and carambola. Head is small, frothy, white with some slippery lacing and is almost fully diminishing. Color is murky light amber/orange with a few small particles. Flavor starts lightly acidic and finishes lightly acidic and bitter. Palate is light to medium, watery with a lively carbonation. The orange-y hop profile, though subdued, is very noticable in the American Pale Ale.

Poured from 12oz glass into lager glass. Bottled on date 12/16/11. Aroma: faint aroma of hay, oranges, and vaguely floral Appearance: golden sparkling and half a finger head that faded after a couple minutes. laces glass nicely. Taste: lightly bitter and lightly sweet. slightly metallic aftertaste. some sour. not a lot of flavor here. Palate: light body, thin and slick texture. average carbonation. bitter finish. Overall: Pretty plain APA. Would make a good dession beer but nothing remarkable. Probably wont be buying this again.
