COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Sane or senseless? Harmless or harmful? Sometimes it takes awhile to get to know a stranger. Initial impressions are not always reality, so you must delve deeper. Beyond the initial floral hop aromas, malt sweetness is revealed, yet with a spicy undertone that exposes a very rye sense of humor. Take your time to get to know the Stranger. It’s strangely satisfying.

Pours clear, light gold with a 1 finger, creamy white head that has good retention and leaves a little lacing. Aroma is sweet citrus, cereal grain, toast, a touch of caramel and planty hops. Flavor is sweet citrus, toast, a little toffee, earthy grain and planty hops. Mineral notes and slightly bitter citrus hops round out the finish. Palate is light bodied, slightly slick on entry, fairly dry from there on out and moderately carbonated. Pretty average APA, nice hops profile for an easy going, everybody might like it sort of beer.

A hazy golden amber beer with a thin off-white head. The aroma is yeast, hay, and citrus. The flavor is bitter floral and citrus, very standard and just okay.

On tap at A Tavola. Clear golden brown with a thin white head. Aroma of very subtle citrus hops with a dominant malt background. Taste is also light on hops with a big biscuity malt backing. Watery thin on the palate. Easy to drink, but lacking in flavor.

Sample at KC Beerfest 10-22. Comes clear gold with a small white head. Aroma of citrus, malt and a bit of hops. Taste is similar. Not outstanding, but very drinkable.

Thanks Clifford. Pours light orange with a fizzy fading pale head. Bright hop and citrus aroma. Bit of funky pot-like hops, watery fruit flavor, and a hint of malt. Very sharp carbonation and plenty of hop bitterness. Very good use of hops, but it could stand to bring out some of the complementary flavors.

This kind of sucks. Totally out of balance with burnt and grainy notes but also some citrus. After one sip all I could think was, what the hell?

A very shy pale ale. Just a wisp of hops in the aroma and the taste is lightly sweet with a surprisingly full maltiness (yes, I’m inventing a word--deal with it). A quick finish leaves a hint of the malty sweetness. Found the Stranger in the brother-in-law’s beer refrigerator and, after I finished it, I looked for something else.

Pours gold with small offwhite head. Aroma is bready, caramel and faint hints of citrus. Taste is sweet with minimal bitters. Light and smooth mouthfeel. Not as crisp as I usually like in pale ales.
