Bottle, 12oz. It’s a clear, dark golden beer with an off-white head of moderate size. The aroma is quite floral at first, then pine cones and citrus peel kicks in, but not completely removing the floral, rose-like scents. Some spiced hints in the flavor, with roses, citrus peel and pine cones. Full body, quite dry on the palate, with a pleasant carbonation level. There’s a lasting bitterness in there as well. Not sure if I like the floral touch, but it’s a decent beer anyway. Quenching. 130821 Benzai (16918) - Oirschot, THE NETHERLANDS, NETHERLANDS - OCT 30, 2012
Bottle @ home, bought at De Bierkoning, shared with Dutchdrebus. Hazy almost pale orange color, medium sized white head that disappears fully within a couple of seconds. Aroma of malts, some hops, a bit oxidised so I guess it’s a bit old. Taste malts, lightly hops, lightly bitter. Nothing fruity really, and again a bit old. Or maybe it has been in the store in the light for too long. So all things considered: I think it’s a decent APA when it’s fresh, but now it’s not that good. Too bad. djd07 (16289) - Houston, Texas, USA - MAY 28, 2012
Bottle. Pours a cloudy copper with a frothy white head. The aroma is a bready malt and floral hop notes. Medium mouthfeel with a sweet malt And rye flavor with a light spice finish. A good pale ale from Left Hand. Scopey (16226) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUL 10, 2012
Keg at White Horse. It pours orange=amber, with a thin white head. The nose is sweet malt, orange, boiled sweets and maybe a touch of sweaty sock. The taste is very light, hay, orange, citrus pith, lemony soap, spice, straw and faint tropical fruit. Light body and moderate carbonation. Easy drinking, but relatively unexciting.
