Cask at Backcountry Pizza. Pours a light red/gold with almost no foam. Smells very lights and a little sweet. Tastes like a combination of an amber and a pale with cheap malts. Has a fair amount of hops, cascade in the forefront ending with magnum, and finishes with hops as opposed to its weaker malt flavors. 12 oz bottle from Capone’s. Pours dark straw with 1-finger eggshell head that has good retention. Nose is pale malt, spicy hops. Tastes pale malty, hoppy, floral, with a medium palate heft and a bitter finish. The finish is a bit cloying and astringent. drjay44 (3893) - Salida, Colorado, USA - MAR 9, 2011
12 oz. bottle. Served at cellar temperature. Pours a thin, short lived, off white head, over a clear gold (SRM 5) body.....nose is light with citrus, yeast, spice layers, grass.....taste is cereal, with a touch of grass, light spiciness, finishing with a mild bitterness.....mouth feel is light, carbonation medium This is a light APA, which has some unusual aromas and flavors, most probably from the rye addition. I do not enjoy it much. BJCP 6/3/11/4/6 italianjohn (3312) - Penndel, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 10, 2011
Golden clear pour white thin head .... malty and floral hop aroma ... thin and malty taste with a floral hop that flows into a light bitter finish not much to say about this one its drinkable and decent ... you probably shouldn’t talk to this stranger PorterPounder (8364) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - MAR 11, 2011
Tallahassee, Fl - New Leaf Market - 12 oz bottle. Dark golden, light copper pour, sticky but thin off-white head. Slightly funky aroma - hints of toe jam and peach marmalade. Flavor is odd for a pale ale. Some spiciness, a bit of muted citrus, some spearmint tinted rye flavor. Mouthfeel is smooth, Mark this one as decent.

12oz bottle. Pours a very pale amber with very little head. Also very little body and, unfortunately, very little taste. It’s quite drinkable just not much too this one. Foxbush (2142) - Richmond, Virginia, USA - MAR 29, 2011
UPDATED: JUN 23, 2012 This was purchased at Whole Foods in Richmond. I wanted to try some of the beers they were promoting. The floral aroma of hops was very evident. The clear golden color was the best I have seen. The head was small and disapated. The slight bitter taste lingered after each drink. Smooth finish for this medium body ale. This is not a remarkable APA. I purchased another on tap at Miller’s in Charlottesville. This was a better brew and I improved scores notalush (5955) - Lakewood, Colorado, USA - APR 3, 2011
Clear golden pour - fizzy, quickly dissipating head - nose of floral hops, rye, honey, toast - flavor is initially of crackery malts - this, coupled with faint diacetyl makes it taste a bit more British - diacetyl seems intentional and is not strong or off-putting - tail end gets a little more dry, as spicy rye comes to the fore, finishing with lightly peppery hops - light, crisp, subtle - a so-so lawnmower beer. rougeau13 (3280) - Richmond, Texas, USA - APR 18, 2011
UPDATED: MAR 29, 2016 Tap at brewery. Clear golden with a lacing, puffy white head that lasts forever. Aroma of citrus and pine and pale malt. Tastes like tortilla chips, pale malt and hay. Medium-thin. The aroma is MUCH better than the taste. AR (1002) - Georgia, USA - APR 22, 2011
Dry Rye. That sums up this beer in a nushell. Limited Aroma. Dry, malty pale ale. Very drinkable with some mexican cousine.
