I donít know, maybe i was misled. Thought this was a barrel-aged version (the tap handle said barrel-aged). I didnít get many wood notes. aside from that - it was a pretty standard Imperial stout. I enjoyed that it was served on nitro. I donít think there was anything super outstanding or amazing in my glass. It was just a little thin. I told my wife i was surprised at how drinkable it was. and not delicious drinkable - plain/boring drinkable. just not exciting.
Keg Half Pint at White Horse American Beer Festival 2009, Parsons Green, London in July 2009 - Pitch Black in colour. Very Malty; roast/burnt malts, caramel, burnt sugar, chocolate, espresso, oak, vanilla. Fruity; dark fruits. Hoppy; earthy herbal hops. Warming alcohol quite evident. Roast malty with a slightly bitter edge. Terrific Imperial Stout! (2009-07)

Wake up Dead imp. Stout. (Love the name)
Nice, dark, chewy. This has aged a bit, because the alcohol heat is present but mellowed. Bitter hop toward the end, but not overpowering. Definitely a sit, sip and enjoy a good book while listening to "Suzy Q", yes that is playing right now. Giochaurand (532) - FINLAND - DEC 25, 2015

Draft at the Lizardville. Small snifter pour is jet black with a small mocha head. Aroma is big roasted malts, burnt toast, so dark chocolate, and Nestle Quick. Taste is again big roasted, toasted malts. Almost burnt . Dark chocolate, some bitter coffee grounds, some woodniess, some booze, and caramel. Medium body, medium carb. Almost burnt finish. Mediocre. tysongillmore (362) - Tucson, Arizona, USA - NOV 21, 2015

Draft at world of beer in Denver. Pours pitch black with a small white head. The aroma has very little to speak of. I asked my wife to smell to make sure Iím not off. The taste has a lot of oak, vanilla, roasted malt, chocolate, a bit sweet. Not a bad brew by any means but not exceptional either. kevinator (2176) - The Colony, Texas, USA - JUN 21, 2015
Malty aroma with hints of oak and chocolate. Breautiful dark color with a tan foamy head. Heavy weight with a smoothness. Flavors of roasted malt, chocolate, wood and a slight bitter finish. Good stuff.
